Google’s Year in Search displays the leading trends in Thailand in 2022

According to Google’s Year in Search 2022, the most searched terms in Thailand in 2022 were “State welfare card” and “Nida “Tangmo” Patcharaveerapong.” Both of these words mean “politician.” Based on Google searches, the annual survey gives a snapshot of the most important trends and interests of the past year. For the fourth year in a row, government aid and stimulus measures were among the most searched terms. After Covid-19 and the cost-of-living crisis hurt the economy and made it hard for Thais to make ends meet, “State welfare card” was the most-searched term in Thailand. The actress Tangmo was the second person who died. She died in Bangkok on February 24 in a boating accident that was all over the news for weeks. “Let’s Go Halves” Phase 5, the most recent version of the government’s shopping subsidy program, came in third. The Thai drama series “Tai Lar,” also known as “The Giver,” was the fourth most searched-for thing, and “Gangubai Kathiawadi” was the fifth most searched-for thing.

“Botnoi Voice,” an AI-powered text-to-speech program, came in sixth, and “Wordle,” a word game, came in seventh. “Duay Rak Lae Haklang,” also known as “P.S. I Hate Your,” and “Khue Thoe” were the eighth and ninth-best Thai dramas (Bad Romeo). “Sor Thor 02,” the government’s online platform for schools of vocational education, was tenth on the list. Google Thailand says that five out of the ten most-searched terms of the year were about entertainment (four dramas or films and one game). The fact that “Botnoi Voice” and “Sor Thor 02” were among the top 10 searches shows that people still use the Internet to learn.
