During the long weekend, a lot of tourists go to seafood festivals in Pattaya

Officials from Phuket and Pattaya, historically two of Thailand’s most popular tourist destinations, have been scrambling to find ways to restore their respective tourism industries, which have been damaged by the Thai government’s limitations on the use of Covid-19. The government in Pattaya and Phuket have scheduled a variety of food festivals for this year in an effort to increase revenue for local merchants and farmers. Several of these projects look to be beginning to bear fruit. Each of the twenty vendors at Pattaya’s brand-new Squid Fair seafood festival made between 30,000 and 40,000 baht during the month of May. According to the director of the Pattaya Business and Tourism Association, between 3,000 and 4,000 individuals attended the festival daily. It is hoped that Pattaya’s most recent seafood festivals would also contribute to the prosperity of the city’s ambitious local business owners.
