Teenagers love psilocybin mushrooms, or magic mushrooms. The Thai Narcotics Control Board will produce hallucinogenic magic mushroom medication to cure depression. The Narcotics Control Board will grow magic mushrooms in Khon Kaen and ask Thai institutions to participate. Somsak Thepsuthin, the justice minister, told the media that the Narcotics Control Board is researching the health advantages of magic mushrooms alongside Khon Kaen University in Isaan.
Numerous studies suggest mushroom psilocybin could help alcoholism, insomnia, and depression. The Category 5 narcotic appears to cure cluster headaches, anxiety, anorexia, OCD, and drug addictions. Somsak projected that magic mushrooms, like Kratom, would be removed from Narcotics Category 5. Somsak said large pharmaceutical corporations in the U.S., U.K., and Thailand have applied for a patent to investigate magic mushrooms. Sellers face 2–15 years in prison and fines of 200,000-1.5 million baht. Infringers could face 20,000 Baht penalties, a year in jail, or both. According to the minister, other nations are studying magic mushrooms’ therapeutic application. Thai legislation forbids the use of magic mushrooms. The minister said it will enhance economic growth and let Thais farm legally and make more money. Somsak says fresh magic mushrooms cost 500 baht per kilogram and dried ones 5,000 baht. He warned clients the mushroom was poisonous.
