The National Health Security Office’s free flu vaccine campaign ends on August 31. The secretary-general urged people to obtain their free flu shot this week. We advise disadvantaged populations to get a free flu shot at NHSO-certified hospitals and clinics in the next week. Over-65s, 6- to 2-year-olds, thalassemia sufferers, and individuals with chronic health issues.
The initiative began on May 1 to give free flu vaccines to Thailand’s most vulnerable population. He discussed the vulnerabilities that make people eligible for the program and advised them to get vaccinated. After a four-month initiative, this is the final week for free vaccines. Recipients who meet the criteria pay nothing, regardless of health insurance. Free vaccines are only for vulnerable groups. According to the NHSO secretary-general, 2.9 million people have received flu vaccines in clinics and hospitals nationwide. “The flu vaccine is safe and can minimize severe symptoms and complications. It’s a must during rainy [ill] season, when flu spreads swiftly. Bangkok, Nakhon Ratchasima, Khon Kaen, Ubon Ratchathani, and Chiang Rai took advantage of the program the most.
The NHSO can be reached via Facebook, LINE, or by phoning 1330. Before Covid, anti-vaxxers, and controversy, there was the annual flu shot.
