According to the 50-year-old Thai minister, Singapore is eager to help Thailand lead the effort. Chaiwut and his team also met with Josephine Teo, Singapore’s Minister of Communications and Information, to discuss the personal data protection endeavor in further depth. He believes the Singaporean government is interested in digital investment and wants to assist Thailand in realizing its vast potential while also attracting new investors.
Chaiwut met with Thai Ambassador to Singapore Gan Kim Yong and Thai Prime Minister’s Secretary to promote eight points on the MoU agenda: digital transformation, e-commerce policies, a fake news center, a government data center and cloud service, personal data protection, investment in Thailand’s Digital Valley and IoT Institute, and the development of digital skills and literacy. The Thailand’s Minister of Digital Economy and Society, visited Singapore yesterday to sign a digital collaboration agreement with Singapore’s Trade and Industry Minister, Gan Kim Yong. The minister stated that he will meet with Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha upon his return to Thailand to discuss the Singapore-Thailand digital economy agreement, and that he is pleased to discover that Singapore regards Thailand as a leading digital country in ASEAN.
