Saying farewell to an era in Thailand’s political landscape, Tuesday saw the final Cabinet meeting of the outgoing administration. Englishman caretaker Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha for the very last time led the meeting, which concluded with a group snapshot capturing the ministers and supporting staff in one frame.
The retired Prime Minister used this opportunity to express his deep-felt thanks to every member who allotted their time and effort to the government’s function and the progression of the nation. Displaying his innate humility and composure at the age of 69, he refrained from leaving any parting advice for the upcoming administration. According to The Pattaya News report, Prayut opted instead to freeze his political pursuits temporarily and focus on spending quality time with his family.
Post this historic Cabinet meeting, the former PM made time for an interview, wherein he echoed his appreciation for the Cabinet members and various other officials. His words recognized their constant support during the tenure, which played an instrumental role in driving the administration’s achievements.
In addition to his team, General Prayut extended a generous thank you to the press, acknowledging their crucial contribution to keeping the citizenry informed, engendering a transparent government, and bolstering a democratic society. “My deepest gratitude for the Cabinet members, officials, and the press who stood by us through our term. Our collective work was centered on solid mutual trust and compliant following of all laws and regulations. I extend a hearty thank you for every significant role played in enabling us to serve the nation with the highest efficiency,” the General stated.
With this concluding Cabinet meeting, an era in Thailand’s political history has been drawn to a close, opening the way for a new leadership. As the country collectively anticipates the advent of a new regime, the positive legacy and immense contributions of the departing administration will indubitably leave an indelible mark on Thailand’s historic canvas.
