Recent discoveries in an ongoing police investigation have linked a man currently detained on suspicion of his young daughter’s murder, to a pair of mysterious infant deaths from 2013 and 2014. Songsak Songsaeng, a man of 46 years, and his present consort, Sunan Nahuanin, 40, are currently under arrest regarding the alleged murder of their 2-year-old daughter. Throughout his investigation, Mr. Songsaeng confessed to the tragic taking of four of his sons, each a product of a previous marriage.
As spearheaded by Pol Maj Gen Wathee Assawutmangkul, head of the forensics division, DNA testing has unveiled grim insights. The samples obtained from Mr. Songsak, his past spouse Jessada Meepian, and the deceased infants share an irrefutable genetic match. The victims, whose bodies were uncovered in the Bang Sue district, were posthumously found to be descendants of Mr. Songsak. The eldest, a boy of roughly ten months, was discovered in 2013, while his one-month-old brother was found in similar conditions the following year.
The results of additional DNA examinations, which are being conducted on bones recently discovered near Soi Phahonyothin 56 in Bangkok’s Sai Mai district, are poised to be unveiled by next week. However, preliminary evidence does point towards Ms. Jessada’s complicity in these tragic affairs. As stated by Pol Maj Gen Teeradet Thammasuthee, the chief of the Investigation Division of the Metropolitan Police Bureau (IDMB), she is expected to face charges of concealing the bodies.
Mr. Songsak, originally apprehended on charges of committing assault leading to death, is now anticipated to face more severe allegations regarding colluding in murder, contingent on future DNA test results. Furthermore, the police are probing into Mr. Songsakās possible ties to human trafficking. Shockingly, prior to his arrest, he exploited the images of his own stricken daughter to solicit public donations.
His and Ms. Sunan’s arrest was instigated by a fervent social media outcry. A famed influencer brought attention to the plight of two young girls, alleged victims of paternal assault, prompting the police to intervene fashioning a heart-rending narrative of inherent family misdemeanors.
