The Thailand Meteorological Agency has issued a warning to citizens about adverse weather conditions expected to hit various parts of the country. This is due to the influence of a moderate high-pressure system stemming from upper Vietnam and the South China Sea, predicted to impact the upper Northeast regions of Thailand on Saturday. Accompanied by easterly winds blowing over the East, the lower Central regions and the South, the atmosphere is bracing for significant changes.

Inhabitants have been advised to be watchful of severe conditions that might trigger sudden flash floods and overflow. Such probability is specifically higher along the foothills near various waterways and lowlands. In light of the predicted situation, a call has been made for all transport systems on the roads, in the air or on water to carry out actions with extreme caution.

It is anticipated that the Andaman Sea and the Gulf will experience increased wave activity, with heights reaching a meter and even surpassing two meters during heavy rain and thundershowers. Advice has been handed out to all ships navigating these waters to exercise prudence and steer clear from thundershowers.

A number of regions in Thailand are expected to bear the brunt of the thundershowers due to these climatic conditions. These include places in the Northeast like Nakhon Ratchasima, Buri Ram, Surin, Si Sa Set, and Ubon Ratchathani.

In the Central region, Kanchanaburi, Suphanburi, Uthai Thani, Chainat, Lopburi, Saraburi, Ratchaburi, Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram – including the bustling Bangkok metropolitan area – are bracing for the turbulent weather.

Eastern Thailand will also witness the climatic brunt, with places like Nakhon Nayok, Sa Kaeo, Prachinburi, Chonburi, Rayong, Chanthaburi, and Trat preparing for the downpour. Furthermore, Southern areas such as Surat Thani, Nakhon Si Thammarat, Phatthalung, Songkhla, Pattani, Yala, Narathiwat, Ranong, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang and Satun are also on the likely hit list.

The Thailand Meteorological Department is remain vigilant, closely monitoring the weather patterns and is committed to keeping the public safety at the forefront.
