On the day of July 26, an unfortunate incident took place causing significant damage to the navy frigate, HTMS Naresuan. The event occurred as the ship was leaving the quay of Map Ta Phut industrial port, located in the Muang district of Rayong province. In the course of maneuvering, the vessel’s left gunwale made contact with the corner of the quay, as stated by Adm Pokkrong Monthatphalin, the official spokesperson for the Royal Thai Navy. On July 26, an unfortunate incident occurred at the Map Taphut dock. The Thai navy frigate HTMS Naresuan, a venerable vessel with a history almost three decades deep, sustained significant damage. A source from the navy confirmed that a torpedo tube and various life rafts on the ship experienced the brunt of the unexpected accident. HTMS Naresuan was in the act of docking when the accident transpired, offering no further information on the cause.
