In a surprising turn of events, a Thai woman from Nonthaburi province, adjacent to Bangkok, has approached a local beauty clinic with substantial claims. The woman insists that malpractice during her cosmetic surgery at the popular clinic lead to her shocking development of gangrene and a festering forehead infection. What’s more, she’s not alone. At least six others within the community have echoed her sentiments, reporting adverse reactions following various treatments at the same establishment.

At the tender age of 32, our victim was compelled to file a complaint with the Consumer Protection Crime Suppression Division (CPPD), recounting her harrowing experience. Originally driven by a desire for a dramatic change, she sought forehead augmentation, lured by the clinic’s compelling advertisements on social media. A plethora of encouraging reviews adorned their online presence, and a series of enticing promotions furthered her commitment. On the 4th of March, she invested 60,000 baht in the pursuit of self-improvement.

Post-operation, the woman was met with a horrifying reality. Her forehead was marred with unsightly wounds, suffering from an agonising infection. This ordeal forced her to abandon her thriving career as a master of ceremonies. The clinic was quick to dismiss her ordeal, attributing the infection to an alleged allergy to their bandage.

Seeking reassurance, our victim bravely decided to consult with other healthcare professionals. Despite being discouraged by the clinic, she sought diagnoses from over ten specialist skin hospitals. They echoed the same proposal: her wounds were indeed gangrenous. This meant a lengthy series of laser treatments over at least a year, an intervention aimed to reduce the appearance of her scars. Further distressing news followed; not only was it impossible to ensure complete healing, but she would also have to undergo more surgical procedures to prevent further spread of her symptoms.

To add insult to injury, the clinic offered a laughable compensation of only 15,000 baht. This was a mere drop in a sea as our victim had allocated at least 1 million baht for treatments needed in the aftermath of the botched surgery. Moreover, she also suffered a significant loss of earnings due to her condition.

Channel 3 broke the news that our victim wasn’t the clinic’s only failed operation. Other victims had emerged, each one sharing their horrendous experiences at the hands of the proclaimed professionals at the clinic. The most recent was a 26-year-old woman who had undergone a nasal operation for 20,000 baht, only to be left with thinning skin and an almost visible nasal bone. To add to the saga, the doctor who performed the procedure was revealed not to be a plastic surgeon, but a radiologist. Despite the mound of complaints, the clinic unrepentantly continues its usual operations today.
