Marking the glorious milestone of 65 years of diplomatic ties, we’re bringing to you a vibrant cultural fiesta brimming with cultural anecdotes from both Korea and Thailand, oozing soft power exchange.

Our ceremonial spectacle springs into action with an impressive K-pop cover dance curated by ‘The Stars,’ an inspiring team boldly breaking stereotypes associated with Down syndrome. This spirited commencement paves the way for ‘Gilnori’ and ‘Ginori,’ stunning displays of Korean traditional performances. We also have the Korean Percussion Group ‘In Phung-ryu’ breathing life into the celeberation with their music, intriguing instruments and flag displays, threading a traditional narrative into modern celebrations.

To offcially set the ball rolling, our honorable Jeonghan Ham, the Chargé d’affaires of the Korean Embassy, will be delivering the opening remarks. Brace yourself for an array of captivating performances lined up, including a unique blend of Thai traditional dance and the martial art of Muay Thai, showcased by Bunditpatanasilpa Institute. Our programme proudly boasts exciting K-pop cover dances, the famed Thai idol group ‘XI(Exzai)’ and a flamboyant exhibition of Korean traditional dances such as ‘Chun-aeng-mu’ and ‘Tae-pyeong-mu.’ Also, adding to the flow are mesmerising performances like ‘Sogo-chum,’ ‘Jindo-buk-chum,’ ‘Jang-gu-chum,’ and ‘Bu-chae-chum.’ The spellbinding break-dance performance embodying Hangul by the ’20th Century B-Boy’ team, and heart-pounding Taekwondo demonstration by the ‘Black Leopard’ team are sure to keep you on the edge of your seats.

We are also hosting the ‘Show Your Soft Power’ competition, featuring 15 promising Thai finalists eager to display skills in pitch-perfect singing, dynamic dance moves, lip sync and traditional performances. Our esteemed director of the Korean Cultural Center, Mr. Jaeil Cho, will have the honor of crowning the winner.

The festivities cast their spell on November 26th at The Child Protection and Development Center (CPDC), Pattaya, where you can not only enjoy the varied performances but also participate in charitable endeavours. Teaming up for this noble cause are our reputed partners such as Jeong Art, Black Leopard, Kowin Thailand, GTO, LG, Coway, and Prothai, extending their support with generous donations and volunteers ready to join hands with the children.

Dipping into the spirit of the ‘K-Soft Power Festival 2023 in Thailand,’ we are offering you a free pass to a world of cultural exchange. Savour the local cuisine, gain insight into potential travel plans to Korea, and engage in exciting on- and off-line events spread throughout our festival’s booths.

As Chargé d’affairs Ham aptly signifies the vibrant exchange between Korea and Thailand for 65 hopeful years, let’s immerse ourselves in the peace and unity fostered through the exchange of human and soft power. Under the umbrella of ‘I love Thailand, I love Korea,’ we strive to fortify the friendship between our wonderful countries, inching together through the soft power exchange.
