Imagine the vibrant streets of Bangkok buzzing with excitement, not just from its usual hustle and bustle, but from a congregation of power players in the electrical products industry. Himel, known globally for its innovative electrical solutions, recently orchestrated its first global distributor conference since 2019 right in the heart of this dynamic city. Drawing in distributors from over 40 nations, the event underscored a powerful commitment to growth and innovation, unveiling a whopping 150 new products and focusing on expanding Himel’s global footprint, especially in the burgeoning realms of renewable energy.

After a five-year pause caused by the pandemic, this conference marked a significant shift from previous regional gatherings. Koon San ANG, Himel’s International Sales Leader, captures the essence of the event: “This gathering is all about unity, bringing together about 77 individuals from some 40 countries. It’s our token of appreciation to these indispensable partners… the exchange of ideas here will undoubtedly bolster their confidence, reaffirming our dynamic initiatives across the globe.”

Bangkok wasn’t just a geographical choice but a strategic launchpad for Himel’s brand-new global tagline: “Powering Infinity.” Mr. ANG elaborated on the vision, “This mission propels us to foster environments where aspirations can be realized… to create a sustainable future for everyone.”

Jumping from its Spanish roots to becoming a formidable international player, Himel’s product portfolio has not only flourished but diversified, including everything from low-voltage final distribution to industrial automation and control products. Their mission? “Accessible, affordable, and reliable low-voltage components for 6 billion people,” states WenJie QI, International Business GM.

In the playbook of Himel, partnerships are the game-changer. “Our market entry strategy is simple yet effective: collaborate with the crème de la crème in each country and work hand-in-hand to conquer the market,” highlights Mr. ANG. This model relies on solid partnerships founded on shared goals and aligned strategies, ensuring products are always within reach—a critical factor in today’s evolving markets.

Himel’s strategy extends its support beyond distribution. It actively engages end customers like developers and system integrators, offering not just products but also technical prowess. “Our hallmark: delivering the right product in the right market, ensuring unwavering safety and quality. That’s our promise,” Mr. QI firmly asserts.

Present in over 60 nations with upwards of 130 distributors, Himel’s growth trajectory looks promising. Currently, Southeast Asia nourishes 40% of their business, but projections suggest Eastern Europe, the Middle East, and Africa will soon dominate with 70-80% due to immense potential. Nevertheless, Himel envisions growth spanning all regions.

Yet, for Himel, expansion poses its challenges. Southeast Asia remains relatively stable, while regions like EEMEA battle currency volatility and political hurdles. These challenges drive Himel’s move toward localization, establishing manufacturing bases in regions like Saudi Arabia and Algeria to circumvent import restrictions.

In Thailand, despite being a fresher face, Himel persists, rallying strong local partners sharing the company’s energy. They employ multifaceted marketing strategies, from digital branding and social media to impactful factory visits that captivate customers.

The heart of Himel is its unwavering commitment to innovation. With a lineup of over 150 new SKUs, Mr. QI affirms, “Our priority is the ironclad guarantee of product quality and safety.” From redesigned smart home switches to high-performance industrial products, Himel consistently extends its repertoire. Their one-basket solution position is unique, enabling streamlined offerings like never before.

Moreover, Himel is adeptly tracking market trends like industrial automation and renewable energy’s ascent. “Our dedicated renewable energy line provides cutting-edge solutions for solar farms and microgrids,” Mr. QI enlightens, spotlighting their DC and AC offerings.

Beyond product lines, Himel’s devotion to sustainability is evident in initiatives such as solar-roofed “green factories” with eco-friendly practices in China. “While we don’t craft the solar panels, we fortify their use with reliable DC/AC systems and home energy setups, contributing to the renewable revolution,” says Mr. QI.

Corporate social responsibility (CSR) is a cornerstone of Himel’s ethos. Their community upliftment ranges from providing solar lamps in Myanmar’s rural areas to training budding electricians in Cambodia, plus supporting education in Don Bosco schools.

“Our journey isn’t just about the product—it’s about lighting every life spectrum. ‘Powering dreams’ encapsulates the illumination of both homes and hopes,” states Mr. ANG with passion.

Looking towards the future, Himel remains dedicated to their mission: empowering the global populace with accessible, affordable low-voltage solutions. “Our evolution is entering a customer-focused phase, emphasizing local presence and adaptability,” reflects Mr. QI.

With a blend of reliable products, strategic partnerships, relentless innovation, and a conscience for social good, Himel is poised to play a pivotal role in electrifying homes, industries, and communities worldwide. The journey ahead promises to be as electrifying as the dreams they aspire to power.
