Taking into consideration the current political climate, staunch activist Sombat Boonngamanong, more commonly recognized by his nom de guerre “Bor Kor Lai Jud,” has apprised law enforcement of a planned demonstration. Scheduled for 5 pm, this protest represents a strike against the Senate, who failed to back Pita Limjaroenrat’s politically ambitious move to occupy the position of Prime Minister under the banner of Move Forward Party.
In response to this anticipated protest, the police have issued an advisory to all motorists. They suggest avoiding two primary courses leading to the intersection where the demonstration is to take place. This is an effort to mitigate arising traffic congestion until the protest concludes. These include:
- Sukhumvit Road, particularly the stretch between Nana Intersection and Soi 22, and
- Ratchadaphisek Road, that is, the segment extending from Asok-Kamphaeng Phet Intersection to the U-turn positioned in front of Benjakitti Park.
However, the police have concurrently provided alternative routes for motorists to take to ensure minimal disruption to their travel. These suggestions include:
- Phetchaburi Road,
- Soi Thonglor,
- Ekkamai Road,
- Rama IV Road,
- Duang Phithak Road,
- Wireless Road,
- Ratchadamri Road,
- Rama I Road,
- Phaya Thai Road, and
- Chaloem Maha Nakhon Expressway.
All motorists are also urged to meticulously plan their journeys in advance. The police remain available to provide any additional information or guidance you may require, and can be contacted via their call centre at 1197.
