These ambitious travellers descend on the locale aiming to savour the cool 16-degree Celsius climate, scale the intimidating mountain peak, and marvel at a spectacle only nature can provide – the ocean of fog delivering a scene of awe-inspiring tranquility.
The mystical allure of the morning fog coupled with the invigorating presence of a crisp breeze has been generating a tremendous surge of tourists over the long weekend spanning October 21-23. All these captivated souls are drawn to Loei province, where a majestic natural treasure waits to be explored – the Phu Kradueng National Park.
Boasting of enthralling natural aesthetics and an invigorating chill in the air, this verdant wonder has been reverberating with the excited chatter of a whopping 1,883 visitors. As per park officials, the common thread uniting all these diverse travellers is their desire to immerse themselves in the exhilarating chill, partake in the visual feast offered by the sprawling landscape, and summit the awe-inspiring peak of Phu Kradueng at least once in their lives.
The exquisite sense of triumph that comes with reaching the mountain’s zenith was a joyous reality for as many as 1,883 enthusiastic hikers on Sunday morning. With the temperature a pleasant 17.5 degrees Celsius, they stood atop the towering peak, luxuriating in the breathtaking panorama unfolded before their eyes.
The quest typically begins early, at the crack of dawn. From their cosy accommodations, the undaunted explorers hike a decent distance of over two kilometres, navigating towards the tourist service centre at Wang Kwang. As they traverse the climb to the coveted peak, a captivating tapestry of lush natural beauty unfolds, leading the way with verdant grasslands and dense pine forests setting the stage for the climactic view of the fog sea. The adventure-seekers wait with bated breath as the first light of the fresh day breaks through the curtain of fog, illuminating the towering cliffs.
As dusk settles in, these tourists embark on a mesmerising journey, led by the day’s end, towards the Pha Lom Sak Cliff. Here, they stand witness to a sight for sore eyes – a pristine sunset, a glorious bow from our solar deity signalling the end of an unforgettable day.
