In the heartland of Thailand, the Lopburi province, a mysterious wave of robberies has unleased waves of panic among the citizens. The residents have put forth theories linking the thefts to the legendary creature Phi Kra Sue – a feared figure in local folklore. However, the local government has swiftly written off such theories, assuring the public that we’re dealing with an everyday criminal masquerading behind a mask.
Yotsawin Bamrungwet, the esteemed provincial governor of Lopburi, along with a team from the province’s Centre for Maintaining Peace and Order, delved into an in-depth investigation on-site. They sought to dispel unease stemming from numerous resident reports, especially from the people of Ban Buek in the Tha Wung district. This little hamlet turned ground zero has been the primary source of the reports that are electrifying the populace with fear and speculation.
Fact or fiction, you ask? A certain Facebook user known by the name Sathaporn Auyha shared an update in a local group. Sathaporn uploaded a document authored by Pitsanu Prapathananant, Mueang Lopburi’s district chief, who detailed a thorough report to the provincial governor. The document represented a snapshot of a news report circulating online as of yesterday, October 17, highlighting sightings of the infamous Phi Kra Sue creature, spotted around the Mueang Lopburi and Ban Buek areas. The news has steamrolled the peace prevailing in these two regions, with residents being locked in a grip of terror.
The district chief, responding diligently, immediately commanded the subdistrict headman and village headmen to separate truth from myth, according to a report by KhaoSod.
The story of the century and the Antoni Gaudi of the whole spectacle was an informant by the name Wichian Duangket. A resident of Ban Buek, Tha Wung district, Wichian revealed an encounter with the elusive Phi Kra Sue in mid-September. He painted a vivid, eerie picture of the creature – a strange old woman with stark black and white hair, standing just five meters away from him. He took the brave stance, brandishing a household gardening tool to chase the entity through the garden.
However, the eerie plot took a twist when the headman of the neighboring seventh village, while out for a morning jog, stumbled across a mask close to Wichian’s house. The mask bore a striking resemblance to the creature Wichian had described, fuelling speculation that it was a miscreant roaming around in this guise.
In response to the series of events, the district chief has implored heads of local organizations to spread awareness and caution residents against unwarranted panic. He has appealed to the people to ensure the safety of their valuables and farm equipment.
As speculation soars, the locals share stories, and even videos have surfaced of supposed encounters with the creature. Needless to say, the incident has been a hot topic of conversation and viral sharing across multiple subdistricts. Meanwhile, local security forces are joining hands with administrators to catch the individual synonymous with the mythical Phi Kra Sue, offer reassurance and restore peace among the local population.
