Focus will be placed on attracting top-notch tourists from niche markets including luxury, sport tourism, wellness, weddings, and honeymoons. Singapore will host the ITB Asia 2022 trade show from October 19–21.
The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is developing a strategy to lure travelers back from short-haul markets, primarily India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia, in order to generate momentum for the off-peak season. He asserted that new infrastructure in Thailand, such as Bang Sue Grand Station and the M6 road to Nakhon Ratchasima, as well as in adjacent countries like Laos, will facilitate arrivals from China and Southeast Asia. 28 operators reportedly profited 650 million baht from 6,895 transactions.
India, Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia, which helped drive a sizeable share of arrivals once commercial flights started and admission restrictions were relaxed, are rising stars for Thai tourism, according to Mr. Thanet.
He claims that the TAT plans to bring 40 bus firms from Malaysia to Hat Yai for a meeting on the tourism sector at the end of the month. The “Amazing Thailand Road Show” will take place in July in Malaysia and Singapore.
One of the most major marketing occasions this year, according to Mr. Thanet, is the significant travel trade show Travel Mart Plus 2022, which the TAT will host from June 8–10 in Phuket. The objective of this strategic push for short-haul markets, according to Thanet Phetsuwan, TAT’s deputy governor of marketing for Asia and the South Pacific, is to achieve an immediate triumph by bringing in both repeat and new consumers throughout the year. The agency also intends to resume on-site business matching through the Amazing Thailand Road Show in other countries like Cambodia, Vietnam, and South Korea, with a roadshow scheduled there on June 16. In order to provide special packages for golfers, golfing families, and single travelers, the company has partnered with airlines and tour operators in Australia. To improve demand from the Indian market, the agency participated in the South Asia Travel and Tourism Exchange 2022, which was held in New Delhi from May 18–20. Due to more stringent travel laws, the expo anticipates inviting 277 overseas buyers to join business networking events with 263 local tour operators this year.
