More than 1,000 Burapha University students have expressed interest in helping with the initiative, claims Rong-Aroon. The Saensuk Municipality of Muenf Chon Buri District, the National Institute of Development Administration, and the Thai Health Promotion Foundation have proposed a proposal to ban smoking and drinking at Bang Saen Beach. According to the paper, a policy banning smoking and drinking makes customers feel safer and more at ease. By forbidding drinking and smoking there, Chon Buri province officials hope to turn Bang Saen Beach into a well-liked tourist destination. According to Pattaya City’s permanent secretary, Pramoote Tubtim, Bang Sean urged residents and visitors to refrain from bringing in alcohol and cigarette goods. The first warning will be given to anyone who brings alcohol or tobacco to the beach. If they continue to break the rules, they will be accused of crimes and given publicly known punishments. The Thai Health Promotion Foundation reports that exposure to secondhand smoke resulted in 8,278 fatalities, whereas drunk driving accounts for 25% of all road accidents. They made the decision to launch an advertising campaign in order to raise awareness of the project and win the support of locals, vendors, and visitors. Owners of seaside restaurants and storefront shops allegedly agreed to the concept even though they had to stop selling cigarettes and alcohol. According to Roong-Aroon Liimhapunt, acting director of the Thai Health Promotion Foundation, the project aims to provide visitors with a pleasant environment, lessen the risks of passive smoking, prevent disorder and violence brought on by intoxicated people, and lessen the risks of passive smoking.
