The islands were getting ready for tourists to arrive the next day. According to a report in the Bangkok Post, the government plans to send UNESCO a proposal about the Andaman Sea Nature Reserves. Ranong, Phangnga, and Phuket are the three provinces on the coast of the Andaman Sea. Together, they cover about 30,000 square kilometers. In February of the following year, the nomination process will be over. Khao Lak, the Similan Islands, and Surin Island are all part of Phang Nga Bay, which is a great place for both scuba diving trips and relaxing beach vacations. There are many uncharted areas with beautiful scenery, wild animals in the rainforest, and a lot of native life in the mangroves that people rarely see. We are looking into how to best get ready for the next diving season in the Andaman Sea.
Varawut said, “The Andaman coast is such a special place that we want to suggest it to UNESCO because it needs to be protected for the long term by more than just the native people.” The park is in charge of making sure that diving businesses don’t let divers ride on outboard boats. The staff must be trained in cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and automated external defibrillators (AED), and it is their job to make sure that water safety equipment is always available. Once the reefs on Similan National Park’s Koh Tachai have healed, the island will be open to visitors. The number of people who can visit will be limited to protect the fragile aquatic resources. Varawut Silpa-archa, the minister of natural resources and the environment, will ask the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) to recognize three protected areas in the Andaman Sea. On October 15, Varawut went to Koh Miang in the Similan Islands in Phangnga province to check on a maintenance and trash collection project.
The coastline of the Andaman Sea is going to be recognized by UNESCO
