Finding EV charging outlets in Thailand is now simple thanks to a Google Maps update

In response to the growing demand for electric vehicles (EVs) in Thailand, Google Maps has introduced a new feature that makes it simple to locate a location at which you can charge your vehicle. After seeing a year-over-year increase of 350% in the number of searches for electric vehicle charging stations in the kingdom, Google decided to roll out the new feature. Launch the app, and then search for electric vehicle charging stations to locate a list of chargers in your immediate area. The power rating is presented, giving drivers the ability to select either a quick or a leisurely charging option for their vehicles. There are currently 1,200 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations in Thailand, the most majority of which are located in and around the country’s capital. The federal government virtually doubled its goal of installing 750 electric vehicle (EV) charging stations around the country by the end of 2022. By the year 2027, the government intends to have 7,000 stations around the kingdom. “To promote the move to a low carbon society,” the government of Thailand approved a budget in March of three billion baht to subsidize the price of electric vehicles (EVs) for the Thai people and constructed two EV charging stations at Benjakitti Park that are free for the public to use. In July, Phuket entered a new era of sustainability when it became home to the island’s first-ever rentable 100% electric vehicle, the Nissan Leaf. This marked the beginning of a new era for the island. Near the InterContinental Phuket Resort at Kamala Bay, tourists can rent a car from SIXT Thailand and charge it at one of the resort’s six fast charging stations. Anyone, not simply those staying at the hotel, is permitted to use the stations. The development of electric vehicles has helped Thailand become a regional powerhouse. Mercedes-Benz made the announcement that the EQS model, which will be the first 100% electric vehicle produced by the brand and will be manufactured in Thailand, will be available last week. In May, Tesla became the first company to sell electric vehicles (EVs) in Thailand after registering as a business there.
