According to the director of the office for the islands that are run by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Tao, and Koh Pha Ngan have had a total of 2.3 million tourists come on their shores over the course of the past ten months. This has resulted in revenue of more than forty billion Thai baht. The islands located off the coast of Surat Thani are anticipating a sixty percent spike in the number of visitors as compared to the middle of the year.
According to the statistics provided by Hat Noppharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park, Maya Bay, which is a major natural attraction located in Krabi, has been receiving an average of 4,100 tourists every day.
In light of the fact that the bay had been closed for environmental restoration from the months of August through September, the chief of the park referred to the statistics as a “good indicator.” The park enforces stringent guidelines for visitors, including the prohibition of swimming in the ocean and the requirement that reef-safe sunscreen is used. The number of tourists visiting the number of Thailand’s well-known resort areas has recently increased. Immigration officials in Thailand reported 934,164 foreign visitors to Phuket between May 1 and November 27 of this year. There are 914,746 tourists that are not from Thailand, however, there are 19,418 tourists who are Thai. The Phuket Walking Street Sunday Market, sometimes commonly referred to as ‘Laad Yai,’ is a popular destination for visitors to the island of Phuket. In November, the greatest demography of international visitors to Phuket was comprised of Russians. In the past month, there have been 55,097 people from Russia have visited the island province. At least 20,000 people visited Koh Larn island off the coast of Pattaya over the course of only one weekend in the previous month. The throng of tourists, both young and elderly, descended onto the island and quickly made their way to Ta Waen Beach. The islands of South Thailand’s popular tourist destinations are seeing an uptick in visitor numbers.
In addition to the food, umbrellas, and other services that were available at the beach, the tourists liked getting traditional Thai massages. Pattaya City has also constructed a lookout that looks out over the beach specifically for tourists to use when taking pictures. On November 6, Phang Nga’s tourism officials presented a gift to a woman from Slovakia who became the destination’s millionth visitor from outside of Thailand. Now, the province of Phang Nga has established a target of welcoming up to 10 million tourists in the coming year. As of the 26th of October, Thailand had already exceeded the 7 million mark in terms of the number of international tourists who visited the country.
