Han Zhiqiang, China’s ambassador to Thailand, emphasized bilateral cooperation between China and Thailand and China’s contribution to maintaining peace and order amid geopolitical tensions. He also pledged to help boost cooperation in the Asia Pacific region at the upcoming APEC Summit in Bangkok in November. Key attendees attended “Celebrating the 73rd Anniversary of the People’s Republic of China” at the Shangri-La Bangkok Hotel on October 1. Ambassador Han said his nation would expand gradually despite the Covid-19 pandemic and geopolitical concerns. He also expressed optimism that the November APEC Summit in Thailand would strengthen Asia-Pacific engagement and benefit all countries. The event at the Shangri-La Bangkok Hotel featured a multimedia display on Thailand and China’s longstanding alliance, including their fight against Covid-19 and economic, military, agricultural, and cultural ties.
