These additional flights will feature the Boeing B738, equipped with 189 seats, ensuring Surat Thani extends a warm welcome to its guests.
Further enhancing the travel experience, the DoA is set to implement the Common Use Passenger Processing System (CUPPS) across more airports swiftly. Known for its efficiency, CUPPS revolutionizes the check-in process, from issuing boarding passes to managing luggage, already in play at Surat Thani, Ubon Ratchathani, Khon Kaen, Nakhon Si Thammarat, and Phitsanulok airports. This system not only trims down management costs but also optimizes resource usage, elevating operational standards.
Innovatively, the DoA offers the Thai Flight Info application, a comprehensive digital companion that keeps travelers informed about flights, schedules, and airport services. Meanwhile, the ministry aligns efforts with Minister Suriya Jungrungreangkit’s directive to guarantee tourists enjoy smooth, seamless transport experiences, adhering to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand’s (CAAT) stringent safety standards, as emphasized by Ms. Manaporn.
From January 27 to 31, DoA director-general Danai Raungsorn announced that a flurry of 1,380 flights will touch down at 26 airports under the department’s vigilant watch. This marks a 4.62% increase compared to last year, translating to a bustling arrival of 221,005 passengers—a notable rise of 14.32% from the previous year. Rest assured, DoA is committed to the highest levels of service assistance and safety inspections, aligning with international aviation safety protocols and the International Civil Aviation Organisation’s (ICAO) esteemed standards, affirmed by Mr. Danai.
