There was an unfortunate event recorded in the province of Udon Thani when the lifeless body of a young lady was discovered in the room of her ex-lover. The law enforcement officials were soon at the scene of the incident, carrying out investigations. The sad victim of this unfortunate circumstance, a 21-year-old affectionately known as Supak, was found in an unconscious state in room A9. The individual living in the room, a 20-year-old, Charupong, confessed to the police that the deceased had ingested an excessive quantity of a known party drug with the street names ‘Pro’ or ‘Happy Pill’ on the previous night, resulting in a tragedy of fatal overdose.

At high noon on the fateful day, Officer Kritsada Channon, affiliated with the Udon Thani City Police Station as an investigative officer, received distressing news about a dead female in an uncharted lodging house situated in Mak Khaeng Sub-district, Udon Thani province. Promptly, he, accompanied by a commissioned doctor from the Udon Thani Centre Hospital and officials from the Sa Wang Metta Tham Rescue Foundation, rushed to the scene.

A heart-wrenching scene awaited them as they located the lifeless body of 21-year-old Supak, laid flat-faced on the dormitory flooring. She was dressed in a short-sleeved bright yellow sports top paired with black shorts. The room’s tenant, Charupong, a student attending a local college who also happened to be a confidant of the deceased, was discernibly in a state shock and anguish.

The body was promptly sent for autopsy while a bottle of cough syrup discovered in the dormitory room was collected by the authorities as a potential contribution to their investigation. Also found in the room was the deceased’s petite kitten, adorned in a tiger-patterned coat, seen keeping loyal vigil over its departed owner.

In an attempt to aid the police investigation, Charupong revealed that his ex-girlfriend had ingested some quantity of the recreational drug, notoriously known as the ‘Happy Pill’, the previous night while he was freshening up in the bathroom. Discovering her motionless later on, his desperate attempts to rouse her proved futile. It was then that he realised her stillness was due to her expired breath, which propelled him to instantly notify the necessary authorities. It was his belief that the untimely death of his friend was due to the recreational drug’s overdose.

Charupong divulged further that he had made the acquaintance of the deceased on social media, specifically Facebook. The deceased had been residing in his room for a mere three days as she was anticipating relocating to a new dormitory by the first of October. Being temporarily out of a home, he graciously offered her shelter in his own.

He further recalled that during those past two to three days, the deceased’s female friends had been frequent visitors in his dormitory room, where they would consume the recreational drug. However, he insisted that he had cautioned them not to overdose due to his discomfort with the situation. Charupong suspected that the cause of death was due to an overly excessive dose taken by the deceased on the previous night.

Witnesses, including the dormitory caretaker aged 62, remarked that the deceased lived alone but had her female friends visiting her consistently. The caretaker often overheard their late-night festivities. He recounted that a female visitor had rushed out of the room that fateful day, stating that her companion was no longer alive. To his shock and horror, confirming the situation, he found it to be indeed true.

After the completion of the autopsy, the authorities are set to contact the family of the deceased to claim the body. Final rites will be observed and carried out in accordance with their traditions.
