The Thailand Privilege Card Co (TPC), the managing organization behind the reputable Thailand Elite Card, has recently unveiled a significant adjustment in their pricing. Seeing a massive spike of 50%, the card’s base membership will soar from its current price of 600,000 baht to an impressive 900,000 baht. This manoeuvre is a potent part of TPC’s comprehensive plan to compound its yearly earnings to an astounding 8 billion baht.
Accompanying this price shift, the institution has promised the introduction of four fresh card variants. Notably, these card types will omit the title ‘Elite’ in their branding, a term synonymous with the program since its establishment in 2003. As reported by the Bangkok Post, this alteration signals a new era for TPC.
Yuthasak Supasorn, the esteemed governor of The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), and the chairman of the TPC board, expressed unwavering confidence in the programme’s future success, regardless of the changes. “We remain adamantly confident that our offerings will remain superior to our neighbours’,” he stated, referencing other nations that boast similar long-stay visa programs.
The luxurious Reserve membership, which prides itself as the most premium new offering, climbs up to 5 million baht— a staggering 150% increment from the current high-tier membership cost of 2 million baht. This exclusive membership, offering a 20-year visa validity, will be extended on an invitational basis, limiting the cap to a select 100 members per year.
Current members need not fret about diminishing benefits. The institution reassures that they can relish their current benefits or, if desired, advance to any of the four new card variants by fulfilling an additional fee. To push this upgrade process further, the company interestingly offers promotional rates for these upgrades.
Manatase Annawat, the confident president of TPC, put forth his firm belief that the Gold membership, with its price tag of 900,000 baht, would drive considerable income, similar to its profitable predecessor, the Elite Easy Access card, previously listed at 600,000 baht. “Though this new card comes at a higher cost, the added benefits should lure even more clients,” he confidently added.
An intriguing fact to take note of is that TPC is due to encounter a 50 % surge for new services, raising the cost to an estimated 550 million baht—an undeniable spike from its current annual expenditure of 200 million baht.
The well-established TPC organization prides itself in holding a prominent membership of 31,500 people. With a commendable dab hand operated over 20 years, TPC has provided a whopping contribution towards the economy—a staggering 50 billion baht.
Maintaining its reputation for profitability, President Annawat assured that the company is set to continue in fiscal 2023, marking the second year in a row. They’ve already recorded a commendable profit of 645 million baht within the first three quarters, exceeding the profit of 627 million baht made just the year before in 2022.
Currently, TPC enjoys a significant cash flow of 12 billion baht. It aims to expand their sales revenue to 8 billion baht in fiscal 2024, commencing this October with the launch of the new Thailand Elite Card variants.
