Siam Paragon, a globally recognized hotspot and epicenter of unparalleled experiences, is ushering in a “New World of Luxury.” This visionary concept ventures into diverse experiential realms enriched through the power of art, making it inclusive and accessible to all. Introducing the “Siam Paragon’s World Art Collective,” this initiative showcases nine contemporary masterpieces created by leading Thai and international artists.
“Siam Paragon’s World Art Collective” redefines luxury by merging it with art appreciation. Through a unique ‘Co-Creation’ process, Siam Paragon collaborates with internationally acclaimed contemporary artists to commission site-specific works and communal exhibits. This extraordinary art experience is now open to locals and travelers from around the world, where lifestyle and world-class art seamlessly converge, transforming visitors into ‘global citizens’ of the boundless art universe.
Chanisa Kaewruen, Siam Piwat’s Executive Vice-President, Group Head – Creative and Innovation, remarked, “Siam Paragon has always been at the forefront of crafting multi-dimensional and unparalleled experiences, particularly in luxury. This legacy has cemented our top position in the minds of Thais and international visitors. Today, Siam Paragon transcends being just a ‘global destination.’ It’s a hub for engaging people in a reimagined ‘New World of Luxury,’ an innovative paradigm of luxury extending beyond mere shopping or retail. We are setting new standards and pioneering a unique prototype of a rare and wondrous luxury experience.”
Hosting between 150,000 to 200,000 visitors daily, Siam Paragon is a bustling lifestyle and experiential epicenter, now an energetic art platform connecting artists, art, and the public. At Siam Paragon, art fuses effortlessly with daily life while remaining thoroughly accessible. Through collaborations with the world’s foremost artists, site-specific artworks have been integrated into the very fabric of Siam Paragon, alongside contemporary art showcases from illustrious artists for everyone to delight in.
Among the nine standout pieces in “Siam Paragon’s World Art Collective” is “Aurora” by renowned French visual artist Pascal Dombis. Inspired by the enchanting northern lights, this installation features 24 lenticular panels that form a dynamic color wheel, creating a shifting visual journey that beckons viewers to actively engage. Known for utilizing simple algorithmic rules to orchestrate both deliberate and serendipitous results, Dombis delivers an extraordinary visual feast.
Additionally, Siam Paragon presents numerous contemporary art installations from prominent Thai and international talents. “Dylie,” a whimsical character crafted by Thai illustrator and art toy designer JWON (Sarayut Kurakaew), graces the 4th Floor. “Red Bubble,” a striking red sculpture embodying playful bubble imagery by Korean artist Donghoon Oh, is showcased on the 1st Floor. On the M Floor, American sculptor John Helton’s graceful bronze piece “Cascading Melody” symbolizes perpetual motion and interconnectedness.
Pieter Obels’ “The Way it Shapes You,” exhibited on the 3rd Floor, features steel sculptures exuding lightness and elegance, envisioning a world dominated by balance and beauty. French digital art pioneer Miguel Chevalier contributes “Kinetic Waves” and “Vortex,” which can be found on the 4th Floor, adding a dynamic digital layer to the artistic landscape.
Then there’s “Didn’t Come this Far to Go Back,” a captivating wooden sculpture by Inson Wongsam, Thailand’s National Artist in Visual Arts (Sculpture) of 1999. Inspired by his solo adventure on a scooter trip to Florence — the birthplace of esteemed art professor Silpa Bhirasri — this piece adorns the 2nd Floor. “Missing” by Naritthorn Sethakunarat, reflecting human loneliness, is located on the 1st Floor. Furthermore, “UOY MA I” by celebrated Thai cartoonist and animator Wisut Ponnimit presents a charming sculpture of the beloved Mamuang character, highlighting how perspective can shape our view of the world.

It’s incredible to see art and luxury blending so seamlessly! This initiative can genuinely transform how people view luxury shopping centers.
I disagree. It feels more like a marketing gimmick than a genuine attempt to bring art to the masses.
But doesn’t every move by big brands come with marketing in mind? The important thing is that art gets more visibility.
That’s a valid point. Even if it’s a marketing move, the exposure these artists get is invaluable.
Art at a shopping mall? This seems a bit counterintuitive. Art belongs in galleries and museums!
Museums aren’t accessible for everyone, Max. Taking art to public spaces democratizes art appreciation.
True, but will visitors appreciate it amidst the shopping frenzy?
I see it as a way of integrating art into everyday life rather than something you need to make a special trip to see.
The ‘Co-Creation’ aspect is fascinating. It feels like a collaborative step forward in contemporary art.
Collaboration is great, but isn’t it just another word for commissioned work funded by corporate interests?
You have a point, but it still encourages artistic innovation and public engagement.
I wonder how long these installations will stay up. Hopefully, it’s a permanent showcase rather than just a temporary exhibit.
It’s refreshing to see Thai artists featured alongside international names. A remarkable initiative for local talent!
Indeed! Hopefully, it brings global recognition to these local artists.
Absolutely, representation matters. Diverse voices enrich the art scene.
Most of these art pieces sound intriguing, but I can’t help but think they’re more for show than true art appreciation.
This is a bold move by Siam Paragon. Merging art with everyday commerce is the future. More places should follow this example!
Couldn’t agree more. This could set a trend for other shopping centers globally.
I saw ‘Aurora’ by Pascal Dombis today. It’s mesmerizing! Worth the visit just for that.
‘Aurora’ is indeed a masterpiece. Dombis knows how to captivate with simplicity.
The whole idea of luxury redefined through art seems a bit pretentious. Is it really luxury if it’s for everyone?
Why should luxury be exclusive? Making it inclusive can redefine its essence.
I can’t wait to see the whimsical ‘Dylie’ character in person. Such an innovative art piece!
Inclusion is a great buzzword, but I doubt the actual experience is as accessible as they claim.
Honestly, it’s more accessible than traditional art spaces. Not everyone has the time or inclination to visit galleries.
How do they plan to maintain these installations? Art in public spaces can face quite a bit of wear and tear.
Good point. Maintenance will be crucial to ensure these pieces last.
Exactly, otherwise it will just be a waste of effort and resources.
‘Kinetic Waves’ sounds like it adds a unique digital twist to the exhibit. Can’t wait to check it out!
Digital art has so much potential. Chevalier’s work is groundbreaking!
Mixing art with shopping feels so capitalist. Does it truly benefit the artists or just the mall owners?
Both parties can benefit. Artists get exposure, and malls attract more visitors. It’s a win-win.
