One of Thailand’s prominent dates, the 71st birthday of the Thai King, was celebrated with much splendour and respect. The King, lauded by His subjects, and under whose reign has overseen the prosperity of the nation, marked his birthday by imparting valuable advice to all Thais. Encouraging self-improvement and altruism, he imparted his wisdom in a grand gathering at the Amarindra Vinijaya Throne Hall, situated in the prestigious Grand Palace.
The King elicited the importance of competent and intelligent governance for the prosperity of the nation and emphasized on the necessity of unanimous support from the Thai people. He urged those in positions of authority, along with the general public, to employ their prudence and judgment for the greater good. His wisdom extends beyond individualism, promoting activities that prove favourable for the entire populace. He advocated that fulfilling these objectives would yield national prosperity, peace, and happiness for all Thais.
The Maha Samakhom, the grand audience, witnessed the expressions of the King’s gratitude for birthday wishes and acknowledgments he received from manifold sources. These include the royal family representatives, high-ranking officials such as the parliament president, the prime minister, and the Supreme Court president. Marking this occasion, to honour the Thai King’s birthday, the nation’s various military forces performed a twenty-one-gun salute.
Thais came together at locations throughout the country, clothed in auspicious yellow, expressing their admiration and respect for the monarch on his special day. Demonstrating their loyalty, they extended their heartfelt wishes.
On the topic of celebrating the King’s birthday, the Thai government’s deputy spokesperson, Rachada Dhnadirek, mentioned the grand reception, named Samosorn Sannibat gala being hosted at the Government House. It’s an evening event, presided over by Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn and Her Royal Highness Princess Chulabhorn Krom Phra Srisavangavadhana, in honour of the King’s birthday. With a live television broadcast, it anticipates the presence of numerous guest pairs, comprising political office holders, senior state officials, and foreign diplomats.
In detailing the successful organization of this grand event, Dhnadirek commended the concerted efforts made by various agencies, spanning both the state and private sectors. This includes the insightful contributions from the Fine Arts Department and the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.
To further embellish the celebration of the King’s birthday, a unique khon Thai classical masked dance is being performed by artists from the Bunditpatanasilp Institute of Fine Arts. The event is set to also feature live orchestra music, courtesy of Mahidol University’s College of Music, as reported by The Phuket News.
