As the sun gradually retires beyond the horizon, casting the world in its twilight hues, nothing quite compares to the picturesque view of Maya Bay in Hat Nappharat Thara-Mu Ko Phi Phi National Park, Krabi. That’s right, friends – this paradisiacal retreat is not just an Instagrammer’s dream but also a lucrative asset to Thailand’s tourism industry. Over the past year, the park registered a staggering revenue surge above 270 million baht – securing its position as the country’s most profitable national park.
With the onset of the high-peak tourist season next month, Ratchanok Paenoi, the dedicated park chief, shared that their park has emerged as the leading pick among marine national parks this year. Surely, a well-deserved title, if we’d dare say!
Insightful annual statistics revealed that from October last year to the previous month, the park had amassed 276 million baht from the admission fees of a robust 1.1 million visitors. This number exhibits a jaw-dropping leap from the preceding 72.5 million baht during the same timeframe last year.
Much to our excitement, Ms Ratchanok also disclosed that last month’s takings from the park’s nascent e-ticket system had increased by a whopping 46%! It looks like embracing technology is certainly paying off.
But the park is more than just numbers and revenues; it’s a manifestation of raw beauty and sublime tranquility. The administration has decidedly enhanced the tourist amenities, navigating a seamless visitor experience. This included rejuvenating the bathroom facilities at Maya Bay, establishing mooring buoys in the seaside expanse for ship docking, as well as beach area management – proving that their commitment to visitor’s comfort isn’t just skin-deep.
Expressing her optimism, the park chief predicts an even more significant influx of visitors in the upcoming high tourist season than prior years. Adding to this fervor, the marine national parks stretching across the Andaman coast anticipate record-breaking visitor numbers.
In an exciting addition, Deputy Prime Minister and Natural Resource and Environment Minister, Phatcharavat Wongsuwan, made a recent announcement. He shared that a prominent five parks from Thailand have earned a respectable spot among the top 100 best beaches worldwide in the World Beach Guide this year. What can we say? It’s certainly been a year of accolades and achievement for Thai parks!
