One of Bangkok’s two airports is Suvarnabhumi International Airport, while the other is Don Muang Airport. Suvarnabhumi International Airport is located in Samut Prakan, Thailand, about 30 kilometers south of Bangkok. Tickets can be purchased at the cash machines or from the counter workers at the railway station, which is located in the airport’s basement. From 6 a.m. to 12 a.m., the train runs.
The three choices for arriving into the city center are via train, bus, or cab. The Airport Rail Link from Suvarnabhumi International Airport is the best and most convenient way to travel into Bangkok. It’s also the most convenient way to return to the airport after your outing. It includes eight stops, including the first and last, and links to two major stations, including Makkasan, which connects to the Petchburi MRT subway station. The final stop is Phayathai station, which links to the BTS Skytrain. The journey from Suvarnabhumi International Airport to Phayathai station takes 30 minutes and costs 45 baht.
Another option is to take a taxi; however, we recommend that you download the Grab app before traveling to Thailand. It’s a bit like Uber. It’s controversial whether or not to take one of the kingdom’s colorful cabs, which are notorious for overcharging and ripping off visitors. Furthermore, the regular cab has a gas tank in the back, making it difficult to transport all of your belongings. If your hotel has a shuttle service, make sure to inquire about being picked up. Taking the train is our recommendation. It’s quick, dependable, and cost-effective. It encompasses the vast majority of the city’s key regions.
Unless it’s absolutely necessary, we don’t advocate taking a cab during rush hour. It’s likely that you’ll be caught in Bangkok traffic for several hours. This is, however, a viable option for those on a restricted budget. Your bus driver can sell you tickets, but keep in mind that he or she may not have change. The buses at the airport are on the first floor. If you’re going with a large group, this is an excellent alternative. Because of the several stops along the way, the airport bus from Suvarnabhumi Airport to downtown Bangkok is the least convenient means of transportation, taking over an hour.
