The heart-wrenching saga involving Thai singer Manaswin “Tik Shiro” Nuntasane continues to unfold as new developments bring more heartache to a grieving family. The father of the late Thianporn Siwapornpitak, who perished in a tragic car accident involving Tik Shiro, is desperately appealing for a reassessment of the compensation offered by the singer following the further loss of his son, who succumbed to injuries from the same incident after months of battling for his life.

On the ill-fated day of October 10, a fateful collision occurred on a bridge over Theparak Road in Sai Mai district when Manaswin’s van collided with a motorcycle driven by 28-year-old Thianporn. Her younger brother, a mere 21-year-old Chakkrapat, was sitting behind her. The accident’s impact was instant and unforgiving—Thianporn lost her life at the scene, while Chakkrapat was rushed to Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital in critical condition.

Their devastated father, Jeerawat Siwapornpitak, recently collected his son’s body from the hospital and immediately sought justice and support through the community-driven Sai Mai Tong Rod Facebook page. This tragic double loss has amplified his call for Tik Shiro to revisit the compensation agreement, which was initially proposed following his daughter’s tragic passing. The emotional upheaval of losing two children is a burden that words fail to capture, and Mr. Jeerawat is seeking a resolution that matches this enormous personal loss.

While Tik Shiro did extend financial help of 170,000 baht for Thianporn’s funeral and was attentive enough to visit Chakkrapat during his stay in the hospital thrice, there’s been dissatisfaction with the compensation for Thianporn’s death, which remains unresolved. The singer had also covered expenses related to Chakkrapat’s rehabilitation. Nevertheless, a significant financial restitution settlement is yet to materialize. An offer of land supposedly valued at 4–5 million baht was previously made by Tik Shiro as compensation, but Mr. Jeerawat refuted it, citing unconvincing proof of ownership and the unrealistic perspective of it covering long-term medical costs projected over the next several decades.

Now with the sorrow of losing both his children, Mr. Jeerawat is urging Tik Shiro to re-evaluate the financial compensation that is due. He is understandably wary of contradiction between the singer’s verbal commitments and the tangible actions that are yet to come to fruition. The anticipation and pain of waiting are compounded by the uncertainty that hangs in the balance.

Intertwined in this saga is the Sai Mai Tong Rod’s founder, Ekapop Luengprasert, who has reached out to authorities, including Pol Col Naren Kruangsanuk, the superintendent of Kannayao police, to address the ongoing situation. The authorities are in the midst of collecting forensic evidence and are poised to engage with the family regarding their stance on additional claims for compensation. The initial discussions hold the looming potential of official charges which could range from reckless driving to accusations of drunk driving, implicating the singer in the deaths.

As this mournful narrative edges forward, it remains crucial for all parties involved to proceed with both empathy and diligence, not only to ensure the Siwapornpitak family finds both financial and emotional closure but also to underline the responsibilities that come with such grievous errors on the road. The story serves as a haunting reminder of the imperatives of road safety and the moral obligations individuals carry in its wake.

I can’t believe Tik Shiro is still trying to wriggle out of properly compensating this poor family. It’s shameful.

We must remember that there’s a legal process. It’s not just up to personal feelings.

      • AuntieMay January 20, 2025

Legal process or not, decency should come first when lives have been lost.

  2. JusticeSeeker99 January 20, 2025

The compensation offered should be extensive given the double tragedy. His initial offer shows a lack of responsibility.

But he’s tried to help too, like visiting the brother and paying initial funeral costs.

A few visits and some money aren’t enough for two tragic lives lost. It’s a pittance considering the emotional toll.

Let’s also consider that he did offer valuable land. Disputes often arise about land valuation.

      • JusticeSeeker99 January 20, 2025

True, but the family refuted the ownership proof – the offer needs credibility.

Does anyone know if Tik Shiro was intoxicated during the accident? That could change everything.

Authorities are investigating that angle. If so, he should face due charges.

If Tik Shiro promised land as compensation, it’s odd the family hasn’t accepted yet. Feels like more is going on here.

It’s not only about the land. Proof of ownership and emotional closure also matter.

Land isn’t easily liquidated to cover medical expenses or future security for the grieving.

But at the same time, we can’t jump to blame without all facts. Justice requires balance.
