The ASEAN region, boasting a bustling populace of 671.7 million, has captured the keen interest of SHARP Corporation (Sharp), a renowned global leader in consumer technology and business solutions. Inspired by the ever-evolving household trends across this vibrant region, SHARP recently showcased an impressive array of home appliances, TVs, and Cocoro Home AIoT Home solutions at the SHARP SYNC UP 2024 regional event in Thailand.
“Sharp is deeply invested in future growth within the ASEAN region. Our solid presence here provides us with invaluable insights into the dynamic needs of our consumers. The unwavering trust and loyalty shown towards the Sharp brand is evident, as we’ve secured the title of ASEAN’s number one brand in the refrigerator and microwave segments. This accolade reflects our commitment to innovation and excellence. Moving forward, we are excited to introduce a myriad of new products and solutions that align with the evolving ways of living and working, thereby enriching the lifestyles of our consumers,” remarked Tomoki Tamura, Vice President of the Business Unit and General Manager of the Global Kitchen Appliance Business Unit at Sharp Corporation.
The SHARP SYNC UP 2024 regional showcase is a dedicated effort to respond to the shifting needs of consumers who prefer sustainable living, demand innovation, prioritize convenience, and seek a personalized, family-focused lifestyle. Delegates, comprising Sharp subsidiaries and business partners from ASEAN and beyond, converged in Bangkok, Thailand for the two-day event. The showcased segments were strategically divided into five categories: Smart Home (covering cleaning, air solutions, and kitchen appliances), New Energy Concept, Smart Entertainment, Smart Lifestyle, and Smart Office.
Designing For Busy Lifestyles And Healthier Kitchens
In response to the ASEAN region’s penchant for cutting-edge design and technology, Sharp unveiled its revolutionary microwave drawer. This innovative product, originally pioneered by Sharp and a hit in the West with over a million units sold in the United States, is now making its debut in the ASEAN market. Seamlessly integrated into contemporary kitchens, it features a user-friendly sensor cooking system that adeptly adjusts cooking time and power levels, ensuring healthier and more convenient meals. Notably, the Easy Wave Open door system, activated via motion sensor, prevents messy spills. The microwave’s large cooking capacity caters perfectly to mid to large-sized households and remains easily accessible to users of all heights and mobility levels.
In the realm of home appliances, another standout is the Ractive Air SR-9, Sharp’s high-powered, low-noise, and lightweight stick vacuum, tipping the scales at just 1.7kg. This re-engineered vacuum promises powerful suction while operating at an impressively low noise level, ranging from 52db to 60db in strong mode, based on JIS standards, compared to the market’s norm of 75 to 82db. The outcome is a cleaner, quieter, and more sustainable living environment, providing a versatile cleaning experience with minimal noise disruption.
#SharpThinkPossibilities
It’s great to see companies like Sharp investing in smart home technologies. They seem to really understand the modern household.
Absolutely! The smart home industry is booming, and Sharp’s innovations are right on the mark.
I just hope this technology doesn’t make us lazier. Convenience is good, but it can also make us too dependent.
That’s a fair point, Jane. Balance is key. We should use technology to enhance our lives without losing basic skills.
I mean, do we really need AI in our kitchen appliances? Feels a bit too over-the-top.
The microwave drawer sounds like a game-changer for small kitchens!
Totally agree. And it’s safer too, especially for families with kids.
But is it really worth the probably high price tag? Regular microwaves work just fine.
For some, the added features and convenience might justify the cost. It’s all about personal preference.
Less noise from vacuum cleaners is something we all need! Good job, Sharp!
Yes! My dog always freaks out with the noise. This would be a blessing.
I’ve been waiting for something like this. Can’t stand the noise of traditional vacuums.
I’m a bit skeptical about the long-term durability of these high-tech appliances.
With any new tech, there’s always a trade-off between innovation and longevity. Time will tell.
Sharp has a good track record; I think they’ll hold up well.
What about the environmental impact of all this new tech? Sustainable living should include less electronic waste.
Sharp claims to be focusing on sustainability, but let’s see the actual impact before jumping to conclusions.
Good point! We need to be cautious about contributing to e-waste.
Awesome, but what about affordability? Are these innovations going to be accessible to everyone?
High-tech usually comes with a high price. Probably not affordable for everyone initially.
Tech prices usually come down over time. Early adopters pay more.
The ASEAN market is a smart move for Sharp. Lots of potential there.
Not sure if all these smart home devices are necessary. Seems like overkill.
Depends on your lifestyle. Some people really benefit from these conveniences.
For sure, family-focused lifestyles can really make this tech worthwhile.
I see that point, but I still think we’re over-automating our lives.
Excited to see how these technologies will shape our homes. Sharp is definitely leading the way.
I can’t wait to try the new microwave drawer! It sounds super innovative.
It does! And it’s already popular in the U.S., so it must be good.
I miss the days when appliances were just simple and lasted forever.
The convenience of modern appliances is unmatched. I wouldn’t trade it for anything.
Right? I mean, why not embrace innovation if it makes life easier?
I’m curious about the integration between these devices. Will they really communicate seamlessly?
That’s the million-dollar question. Interoperability is crucial for a true smart home experience.
