In an exciting new collaborative endeavor, Mahidol University and IRPC Public Company Limited have united under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU). The partnership was formed under the leadership of two influential figures: Prof Dr. Banchong Mahaisavariya, the sitting President of Mahidol University, and Kris Imsang, who fulfills the role of President and CEO at IRPC. The aim of this alliance is to drive academic innovation, spearhead cutting-edge research and development, and accelerate the advancement of medical technology.

This collaborative venture serves the higher purpose ushering Thailand into an era of innovation-based economy. The signing of the MoU took place at the illustrious Energy Complex, Building B. Part of the partnership’s immediate plans includes developing Photopolymer Resin, a fundamental material for creating Dental Models through 3D printing. The potential of this innovative technology is immense, promising a wide range of commercial benefits, and catalysing Thailand’s evolution into an innovative, knowledge-based economy.

Prof Dr. Banchong Mahaisavariya, President of Mahidol University, shared his thoughts. He said, “The University is building bridges with domestic and international organizations to showcase our research work and foster an innovative environment that yields tangible results. This symbiosis between academia and industry is aimed at generating commercial advantages, while facilitating the exchange of technological expertise. Armed with a skilled fleet of professionals, researchers, staff, and students from a variety of disciplines, Mahidol University is indeed on the path to transform into a world-class and entrepreneurial university. We have a strong commitment to becoming a hub of innovative research and education, both on the domestic and international fronts. This MoU serves as a testament to forthcoming collaborations.”

Kris Imsang, President and CEO of IRPC expressed his excitement over the partnership as well. He remarked, “Being well aware of the indispensable role of technological resources and innovative creation, at IRPC, we are focusing on integrating knowledge. This includes internal and external organizational knowledge, in order to develop products, services, and procedures. Our vision is to develop innovative materials and energy solutions in harmony with life. In this context, collaboration with Mahidol University, given their extensive knowledge, expertise, and research diversity, is an asset. The objective is to fuel medical technology research, with the development of Photopolymer Resin for Dental Model 3D printing opening doors to other innovative and commercial pursuits. This cooperation fosters knowledge exchange, experience sharing, and resource development, aiming at bringing progress in medical and public health technology, and pushing Thailand’s economy forward.”
