Thirty-young affluents were taken into police custody at a high-end birthday party turned drug bust from an upscale hotel located in the heart of Ram Inthra district. These party-goers were escorted off to the Chokchai Police Station for questioning after the discovery of four packets of crystal methamphetamine. Additionally, over half of the group, precisely 26 individuals, tested positive for drugs.
Senior Officer Teerasak, Superintendent of the Chokchai Police Station, alongside his men, were acting on an anonymous tip that hinted at large-scale substance abuse at a certain lavish party. When the law enforcement officers made their unanticipated entrance, the party was booming with men and women engaging in the wild festivities. As the police started their sweep, they spotted four discarded drug packets on the floor.
They divided the party-goers into smaller groups based on gender for thorough inspection. They made an alarming discovery of 0.5 grams of methamphetamine cleverly hidden on a young woman named Jariya, who soon confessed that the drugs were her property. Similarly, four men also owned up to the drugs found strewn on the floor. Kannakrit owned up to 1.3 grams of methamphetamine, while Rachot admitted to concealing 0.5 grams. Thinnakorn also confessed to possessing 1.6 grams of methamphetamine.
In addition to the confiscated drugs, urine tests further confirmed that 26 individuals from the party tested positive for drug use. These apprehended individuals were then taken offsite to the Chokchai Police station for further investigation by the officers. Their charges included the possession of class 1 drugs, such as methamphetamine, and class 2 drugs, like ketamine.
Furthermore, KhaoSod arrived at the scene to report that the remaining 26 attendees, who had tested positive, were promptly sent off to drug rehabilitation for comprehensive support.
It seems that such drug activities have become increasingly frequent in Thailand. Just a week ago, the Thai military confiscated a total of 1.2 million pills of methamphetamine heavily laced with cannabis. This massive drug haul was worth an estimated 100 million baht, evidently intended for the recreational drug market.
In another striking case, law enforcement apprehended a couple in Phuket transporting a staggering 40,000 methamphetamine pills across the region. The culprits had divided their illicit cargo into four separate packages, each housing approximately 10,000 Yaba pills. Moreover, there were two additional packages carrying a total of 2 kilograms of pure crystal methamphetamine.
