During the recent long holiday from June 3-5, Khao Yai National Park, a World Heritage Site, attracted thousands of visitors with its stunning landscapes, pristine natural resources, and cool climate year-round. The park, which spans across Saraburi, Nakhon Ratchasima, Prachinburi, and Nakhon Nayok provinces, generated approximately 800,000 baht in revenue from entrance fees alone, according to park chief Chaiya Huayhongthong.
The park welcomed 13,370 Thai and foreign tourists during the holiday period, with visitors entering from two primary entry points: the Chao Pho Khao Yai Shrine in Pak Chong district, Nakhon Ratchasima province, and the Noen Hom in Muang district, Nakhon Nayok. The visitors comprised 11,947 Thai adults, 943 Thai children, 394 foreign adults, and 86 foreign children, who arrived in 3,585 cars, 623 motorcycles, and a six-wheel passenger bus. The park amassed a total of 784,590 baht from entrance fees, with elderly visitors aged 60 and above and 54 children aged three and below exempted from the fees.
Located just 170 kilometers from Bangkok, Khao Yai National Park’s breathtaking views and diverse range of activities make it an ideal destination for holidaymakers, particularly during extended breaks. This park is home to lush forests, a diverse range of wildlife, and popular attractions like the Haew Suwat Waterfall, which is a must-see spot for tourists and photography enthusiasts alike.
Chaiya highlighted that on Saturday night, more than 1,000 visitors occupied the Lam Ta Khong camping site, a perfect location for those seeking a close encounter with nature and the area’s rich wildlife. Adjacent to the camping site is a prime spot for wildlife grazing, providing campers with the chance to observe wild creatures up close in their natural habitat. If fortunate enough, visitors may even witness a herd of 10-20 wild elephants passing through the area.
Khao Yai National Park offers an unforgettable and unique experience for nature lovers, adventure seekers, and photographers. Its unparalleled beauty, matched with its accessibility and diverse attractions, makes it a top destination for both local and international travelers looking to immerse themselves in the wonders of Thailand’s natural landscapes.
