Through a press release from the US Department of State, the US Secretary of State Antony Blinken expressed warm congratulations to Prime Minister Thavisin, emphasizing the hopeful anticipation for an enriched alliance between the two nations. His statement highlighted the eagerness to work hand-in-hand with Thailand to enhance the principles outlined in the US-Thailand Communiqué on Strategic Alliance and Partnership penned just last year.
Blinken says, “Our goal is to bolster the lasting friendship between our two nations and jointly promote a peaceful, connected, and resilient Indo-Pacific sphere, resolute in its defense of shared values and freedoms.”
In a similarly optimistic tone, the European External Action Service’s Press Team delivered a statement saying, “The EU is fully ready to engage more profoundly with the Royal Thai government to reinforce the essential principles of international behavior, advocate for regional stability, progress towards sustainable development, democracy, human rights, prosperity, and free and unbiased trade.”
