It’s amazing to see how progressive Thailand has become with cannabis legalization. Visited Maha Sarakham last year, and it’s great to have a guide like this for tourists!
Absolutely! I was there for the first time a few months ago and was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and variety in the shops.
It’s a step in the right direction for sure, but let’s not forget the importance of responsible consumption and ensuring tourists respect the local culture and regulations.
Progress is good, but are we sure it’s not taking away from the traditional charm of places like Maha Sarakham? It feels like every destination is just becoming more westernized.
Is no one going to talk about the normalization of drug use here? What message are we sending to our kids growing up in these areas?
Cannabis has been a part of many cultures for centuries, including medicine. It’s about education and responsible use, not demonizing a plant.
That’s a fair point, but the line between medicinal use and recreational abuse seems blurred. Just because something is legal doesn’t mean it’s beneficial in all aspects.
As a doctor, I’ve seen the positive impacts on patients where traditional medicine failed. It’s crucial to distinguish between use and abuse.
I’m from Maha Sarakham, and the influx of tourists mainly for our cannabis shops has definitely changed the vibe of our town. Not sure if it’s for the better…
Has there been any impact on local businesses? I’m all for supporting local economies, but it’s important that cultural and ecological sites aren’t neglected.
It’s a mixed bag. On one hand, more visitors have definitely benefited some businesses. On the other, rent prices have surged, making it harder for locals.
Does anyone have recommendations on the cleanest and most eco-friendly shops? Want to support the right businesses while I visit.
Definitely check out ‘EcoWeed’ in the city center. They’re all about organic products and also donate part of their profits to local environmental efforts.
Maha Sarakham has some of the best night skies. Mix that with a good strain from one of these top shops, and it’s a perfect evening.
Agreed, there’s something magical about the combination of nature’s beauty and relaxing with some quality weed. Make sure to respect the place and leave no trace though!
