From Tuesday to Thursday, Noru is anticipated to bring sporadic heavy rainfall to northern and northeastern Thailand (September 27-29). Between Monday and Thursday, sailors should exercise caution in the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand.
The Mun River breached its banks yesterday, causing chest-high flash floods in Ubon Ratchathani province, forcing over 1000 residents to flee their homes. After a continuous rise in water level in previous months, the river eventually overflowed. On Friday at around 1 pm, a tropical depression to the east of the Philippines grew into a tropical storm. This weekend, a monsoon is anticipated to bring torrential rain to all of Thailand before Noru arrives in the nation. On Sunday, Noru is predicted to hit land in the Philippines before tearing through the South China Sea. On Tuesday, Noru is anticipated to hit northern and northeastern Thailand. This week will likely bring heavy rain and the possibility of flash floods, especially in low-lying areas and close to rivers, residents in the northern and northeastern provinces are advised to prepare. Expect thunderstorms, turbulent seas, and waves that are two meters high. According to the Meteorological Department, Tropical Storm Noru has been developing in the Pacific Ocean and is headed toward Thailand.
