“The runway expansion has wrapped up and now awaits the discerning eye of the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) inspectors to ensure everything is up to snuff,” Ruangsorn shared with a hopeful glint.
Meanwhile, the sequel in this airport epic involves revamping the road tunnel, extending the runway strip, and enhancing the runway-end safety area. With an estimated production cost of around 300 million baht, this production is awaiting the green light from the Budget Bureau before the curtain rises.
Current projections have the DoA poised to sign contracts this month, expectantly kicking off work in January next year, with an ambitious premiere set for April 2026.
In its current state, Hua Hin Airport is no slouch. It can already accommodate Boeing 737 and Airbus A320 aircraft, each packing in about 180 passengers.
