Congratulations to Thailand for this innovative scheme for being the Worlds first dual pricing tram service in taking cars off Bangkok busy highways but it make no difference to me because l am a foreigner living in Bangkok and this scheme applies to Thai Nationals only, so Foreigners will still have to pay up to the max fare of 62B while Thai Nationals pay just 20B. There must be 1000’s of Foreigners driving around Bangkok everyday so why don’t the Thai Government allow foreigners with Thai Driving Licenses and of course proof of address is on the licence with 1 year visa’s the same privileges as Thai Nationals, then you would take off 1000’s more cars of the roads everyday. Thai driving licenses have a lD number that could be used for the lD for the tram systems.

This 20 baht cap policy doesn’t apply to foreigners. Foreigners still have to pay the existing high fares. What a discrimination policy! Shame on Thailand!
