When arranging their summer vacations abroad, Japanese, Malaysian, and Vietnamese travelers favor Thailand the most. Travelers are making the most of their vacation time and are eager to visit both domestic and foreign places in Asia, according to Omri Morgenshtern, CEO of Agoda. The majority of tourists from India book trips to Thailand, followed by those from Indonesia, Singapore, France, and Switzerland.
The data used to compile the list currently comes from vacations that have already been booked, however back in March of this year, Thailand topped Agoda’s global list of most-searched destinations. Since travel restrictions have been loosened, there has been a worldwide increase in international travel this year, showing that individuals had been anticipating doing so for the past two years.
Thai travel aficionados applauded Agoda for connecting its booking data with the Thailand Pass system, which made the paperwork and pre-arrival processes more smoother, before Thailand’s entry criteria were loosened.
Pattaya made the list as well, coming up at number eight on the global popularity scale for travel in 2022. The City of Angels is believed to have risen to the top of the list this summer as a result of the removal of Covid-19-related entrance requirements like Test & Go and the Thailand Pass. The focus of the summer is reliving memories and visiting locations they once cherished. At Agoda, we work hard to make traveling even more accessible by offering top-notch travel alternatives on our website and mobile application, along with fantastic savings on lodging, flights, and exciting activities as travel resumes its previous normalcy. South Korea, Singapore, Vietnam, France, and the UK are the top five locations for Thais wishing to travel abroad after the outbreak, according to Agoda’s booking data between May and August of this year. According to its most recent analysis of booking data, the online travel agency Agoda reveals that Bangkok is the world’s No. 1 vacation spot this year.
Asian cities are dominating the world, taking up all 15 of the top slots on Agoda’s list of the most popular summer travel destinations in the world for 2022. Bangkok, Jeju Island, Kuala Lumpur, Tokyo, Seoul, Singapore, Bali, Pattaya, Manila, Penang, Hong Kong, Busan, Osaka, Johor Bahru, and Taichung are just a few of the cities in the world.
In 2022, Bangkok will rank as the top tourist destination on Agoda
