As she stepped into the esteemed halls, she was warmly greeted by class president Col Ekkarat Singhapong, who presented her with a stunning bouquet, a symbol of both admiration and collective backing from her fellow classmates.

In an atmosphere that sparkled with optimism and unity, Ms. Paetongtarn’s classmates in the new executive course pledged their unwavering support for both her leadership and the policies championed by her government. This heartfelt assurance was made during a session of the national defence curriculum for prospective executives, further cementing her role as a leader who inspires confidence and collaboration.

The day’s proceedings included an engaging report from participants about their recent educational voyage to China, underscoring the international scope and insightful nature of the curriculum. Col Ekkarat, representing the collective voice of the 149 classmates, congratulated Ms. Paetongtarn on attaining the esteemed role of Prime Minister, marking this celebratory moment with the vibrant bouquet.

Addressing her peers, Col Ekkarat reaffirmed the group’s commitment to supporting Ms. Paetongtarn’s government policies with utmost dedication and an unshakeable resolve. The air was filled with a sense of partnership and purpose, highlighting the shared objectives and aspirations of this diverse group of individuals.

The newly launched course at the NDC stands as a beacon of progressive education, designed for mid-level officers within the armed forces, ambitious civil servants, influential business executives, and a variety of other professionals including social media influencers and actors. It aims to elevate their understanding of national security while nurturing critical thinking, analytical prowess, and leadership abilities.

Ms. Paetongtarn, one of the 150 fortunate individuals selected from over 500 applicants, is a testament to the rigorous selection process and the high standards maintained by the program. Running from April to September, this “mini-NDC” course has attracted a tapestry of talent, with fifty participants hailing from the ranks of armed forces colonels and senior police officials, and the remainder representing the civilian populace across various sectors, including the dynamic realm of politics.

Admiration? More like propaganda. Remember, she’s a Shinawatra. It’s all in the family business.

Your views are a bit cynical, aren’t they? How about appreciating positive collaboration once in a while?

So proud to see our female PM getting this recognition! It’s a step forward for gender equality in politics.

    • TruthSeeker88 August 19, 2024

Gender equality is great, but let’s hold her accountable. Her policies should speak for her, not her gender.

      • Somsak L. August 19, 2024

Agreed. Accountability is key. But recognition like this can inspire many young girls.

    • Amanda Chen August 19, 2024

Politicians always get these shows of support. What’s important is what happens behind the scenes.

What a joke! The Shinawatra family has done more harm than good to Thailand.

Not everyone would agree with you. Many still credit her brother for modernizing parts of the country.

      • Excelsior_2023 August 19, 2024

Modernizing with corruption? That’s the legacy you want?

    • Panwa78 August 19, 2024

It’s easy to criticize, but what would you have done differently?

The NDC program sounds amazing. It would be fantastic if they applied their learning to real-world solutions.

Indeed! Let’s hope they don’t just come out with a fancy certificate and continue with the status quo.

So, the elite circle back-padding each other. The real change comes from grassroots movements, not these ceremonies.

    • Nan August 19, 2024

True, but having strong leaders at the top doesn’t hurt either. It’s a balance.

True, but let’s be careful not to adopt authoritarian practices under the guise of learning.

Indeed. Adaptation, not blind imitation, should be the goal.

More like they are just learning the art of control from China. Do we really need that here?

    • Mai S. August 19, 2024

Thailand can choose what to learn and apply. Not everything from China is bad.

The fact that PM Paetongtarn was selected from over 500 applicants shows her merit. She deserves congratulations.

Or just another case of nepotism in politics. Let’s not be naive.

    • Chanachon N. August 19, 2024

Sometimes skepticism overshadows genuine achievement. Give credit where it’s due.

I’m curious if the course content truly fosters independent thinking or just toeing the party line.

Hope this brings forth policies that benefit not only the elite but every citizen.

    • Sunny Deol August 19, 2024

Let’s not hold our breath. Politicians have a way of disappointing us all.
