This year, Shopee Pte. Ltd. reduced employment by 3% in Indonesia and 10% in China. Thailand’s ShopeeFood and ShopeePay fired 300 employees in June. This year, Sea Limited’s Singaporean division restructured its operations in other nations to increase its independence. The businesses decided to operate internationally and let the majority of their workers go abroad. To make Shopee more adaptable and capable of expanding, its leaders intend to streamline the company and boost operational effectiveness. The Shopee board announced during the town hall meeting that certain Thai employees will be impacted. As part of its restructuring, Shopee is dismissing more employees in Thailand. 10%, or 100 jobs, will be lost. Shopee shut down locations in Argentina, India, and France during the preceding two years. The company’s most recent reorganization plans apparently came to light at the town hall meeting yesterday. Less than 10% of employees will be laid off as a result of the economy. We won’t accept any compensation until the company achieves financial independence, Forrest Li, Chairman, and CEO of Sea, wrote in an email to all employees, according to a report by Bloomberg on September 15. Following layoffs in other nations including Singapore and Indonesia, Shopee Thailand has now let go of workers a second time. The corporation started laying off employees in June, and throughout the year, it continued to do so.

Shopee Thailand will lay off roughly 10% of its workforce
