Additionally, Thailand and Airbnb will collaborate on educational projects that support responsible hosting and working remotely while traveling. The online hotel booking website’s “Live and Work Anywhere” campaign, which it launched earlier this year, attempts to draw attention to some of the world’s remote worker-friendly places. After more than two years of travel restrictions, the goal is to assist governments and destination marketing organizations in reviving tourism and supporting local economies. Twenty nations, including Thailand, are collaborating with Airbnb to make it simpler to live and work anywhere in the world. Later this year, a facility designed specifically for Thailand is anticipated to debut. On the list of Airbnb’s destination partners, there are representations from both large countries and smaller, lesser-known locales (see below). These partners were chosen because of their attraction to remote workers and their progressiveness in embracing new regulations that would appeal to a different type of visitor. In the first quarter of 2022, long-term stays more than doubled from the first quarter of 2019, following a trend that began in the first quarter of 2021, reaching an all-time high. Notably, roughly one in five travelers claimed to have used Airbnb while on the road for remote work.

The project expands upon the work done during the outbreak, when Airbnb worked with more than 160 governments and destination marketing agencies to promote initiatives to especially increase the return of tourism, particularly through remote working. They have reservations for over 72,000 cities and towns this summer, and they are effectively “living” as Airbnb guests.

The corporation claims that millions of people are now more flexible about where they live and work. As a result, they are dispersing into tens of thousands of towns and cities, where they remain for several weeks, months, or even seasons. According to data gathered by Airbnb, the number of searches for long-term foreign solo travel in Thailand increased by approximately 50% in the first three months of 2022 compared to the same period in 2019. Airbnb in Thailand declared that it would collaborate with the Tourism Authority of Thailand on a number of initiatives in an effort to draw remote workers. One of these initiatives included developing a hub specifically for Thailand that would highlight the best short-term rental options as well as significant data regarding entry requirements and visa policies. The co-founder and CEO of Airbnb, Brian Chesky, claims that employees are allowed to conduct business from wherever. More than a million people visited Airbnb’s careers page in the first week after the announcement.

The “Live Anywhere” members’ year-long “living on Airbnb” odyssey comes to an end next month. Over the course of that time, they had traveled to approximately 80 different countries, from South Korea to Thailand.

A new world of travel where many people are not bound to an office has arisen in the two years since the pandemic started. “By working with these sites, we hope to make it easier for employees to take advantage of this flexibility and to promote the comeback of safe and responsible travel,” said Nathan Blecharczyck, co-founder and chief strategy officer of Airbnb. Although digital nomads and remote workers generally can be beneficial to any economy, research from the Harvard Business School suggests that they may also play a significant role in fostering entrepreneurship in the local communities where they reside, thereby forming “technology clusters” all over the world. We are all aware that travel fosters international friendships and creates a variety of commercial opportunities for local communities. Anyone considering joining the millions of professionals who are currently gaining advantages from this new trend of flexible working and travel will find us glad to offer this one-stop shop.
