According to the vice president of the Tourism Council of Thailand, papaya salad (Somtam), grilled chicken, and pad Thai are among the most popular dishes among tourists at The Wharf Samui. The market is open every Wednesday and Friday, beginning in the late afternoon and lasting far into the night. According to Vice President of the Tourism Council Wiwat Chuenban, the bulk of vendors are locals selling regional delicacies and goods. The Wharf Samui is one of the busiest and most well-known street markets on the island, according to Wiwat. In addition to supporting Thai cuisine as a type of soft power, we have aided in the growth of local tourism. The marketplace can be found within the Bo Phut subdistrict. According to a study that was released yesterday, the islands of Koh Samui, Koh Tao, and Koh Pha Ngan received a total of 2.3 million tourists in the last ten months, as indicated by the director of the office for the islands that is administered by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT). This has generated more than forty billion Thai baht in revenue. The number of visitors to the islands off the coast of Surat Thani is predicted to climb by sixty percent compared to the year’s middle.
In recent years, tourists have been frequenting a variety of Samui markets, not just the Wharf Samui. The Phuket Walking Street Sunday Market, also known as “Laad Yai,” has been attracting a considerable number of people as of late. Similar to Koh Samui, Phuket is once again experiencing an upsurge in the number of tourists. Between the 1st of May and the 27th of November, 934,164 travelers visited Phuket. There are 914,746 tourists that are not from Thailand, however, there are only 19,418 Thai tourists. A minimum of 20,000 individuals visited Koh Larn island off the coast of Pattaya on a single weekend during the previous month. The crush of tourists, both young and old, rapidly made their way to Ta Waen Beach after arriving on the island. On November 6, Phang Nga tourist officials handed a gift to a Slovak woman who was the destination’s one-millionth international visitor. Now, the province of Phang Nga has set an annual goal of accommodating up to 10 million tourists. As of October 26th, the number of international tourists visiting Thailand had already surpassed 7 million. Visitors from all over the world are coming to a popular market in Koh Samui because of the delicious food.
