Police were summoned to break into the locked Banoo Iranian Restaurant in South Pattaya around midday on Tuesday. What they discovered was shocking: the bodies of the two proprietors, 64-year-old Iranian Mojtaba Ghanbariazad and his 49-year-old Thai wife, Thanaporn Poonprakhon, lay lifeless in their second-floor bedroom. The once-bustling eatery had been eerily quiet since last week, with no sign of the owners. Friends and patrons grew increasingly concerned when the doors remained shuttered for days. Patyah’s law enforcement stepped in to unravel the mystery and met a gruesome end.
It was around noon when the police managed to gain entry to the three-story building. The couple’s friend, 27-year-old Kritporn Ajinkit, had sensed something was amiss. He informed the police about a heated argument between the couple and their 21-year-old Myanmar employee, known as Min. The quarrel occurred just last Thursday, after which Min left on the couple’s motorcycle and vanished.
The neighboring restaurant was Mr. Pan, a concerned local, couldn’t ignore the conspicuous silence. He confirmed that the restaurant had been locked since the fateful Thursday. Alarmingly, on the morning of the tragic discovery, one of Thanaporn’s relatives had arrived at the scene and found the place locked. Trusting her instincts and a peculiar dream in which Thanaporn claimed she was trapped inside the restaurant, the relative summoned the police to investigate.
The officers decided to force their way in, only to stumble upon an unsettling tableau. The lifeless bodies were a grim testament to the violence that had erupted within those walls. The details of the murders were still uncertain, but a hammer found in the bedroom suggested a brutal end.
According to Mr. Pan, conflicts between the owners and their now-missing employee had escalated prior to the tragedy. Min had reportedly been reprimanded for his subpar performance, which possibly led to this heinous crime. The police have identified Min as the prime suspect, but his whereabouts remain unknown.
The investigation continues as the community reels from the shock. The Banoo Iranian Restaurant, once a symbol of cross-cultural harmony and culinary delight, now stands as a haunting reminder of the violence that lurks in the shadows of everyday life.
I’m shocked and saddened by this whole ordeal. How could someone just snap like that?
It’s terrifying to think someone you trust as an employee could turn so violent. I wouldn’t jump to conclusions though. Let’s wait for more details.
You’re right, Linda. Jumping to conclusions might be harmful. But it’s hard not to suspect Min with him disappearing right after the argument.
Linda, enough details are out already. Min flew off right after the argument, clearly he’s hiding something!
This just proves why you shouldn’t hire people from dubious backgrounds. You never know, this Min character might be up to more shady things.
That’s a really prejudiced way to look at things, Alexandria. Just because someone had a bad day doesn’t mean they’re inherently evil.
But hiring decisions matter. Employers should do thorough background checks!
It’s sad but true that violence can emanate from anywhere. The hammer found at the scene is chilling.
This story is heartbreaking. The dream Thanaporn’s relative had is really eerie.
Totally! Dreams can be so weird and intuitive sometimes. It’s almost like a cry for help from beyond.
Oh please, it was probably just a coincidence. Leave the supernatural out of it.
Coincidence or not, it led to the discovery of the crime. Can’t dismiss it completely!
I used to eat at Banoo’s regularly. This is so surreal to hear. It’s a huge loss for the community.
I agree, Sammy. It’s disturbing how a place of unity turned into a crime scene.
It’s fascinating yet tragic to see how socio-cultural dynamics play out in such scenarios. The clash between different cultural expectations could escalate tensions.
Why wasn’t there more security at their home? It’s crazy how vulnerable people can be.
Do you think Min might have been framed? Maybe there’s more to this story.
Possible. We need concrete evidence before condemning anyone.
When you flee right after a crime, it doesn’t look good for you.
I think the increasing societal pressures are bringing out the worst in people. It’s a ticking time bomb.
Banoo was a symbol of hope for many immigrants. This is just devastating.
Let’s remember Mojtaba and Thanaporn for their contributions to the community, rather than just focusing on how they died.
I hope the police find Min soon. The community needs answers and closure.
Trust me, he won’t stay hidden for long. Authorities are doing their job.
Reading about this case, it makes you wonder about the thin line between sanity and madness.
We should look into Min’s background more. Perhaps his personal life might give us some clues.
I work nearby and saw them often. They were always so kind. This is just heartbreaking…
Indeed, Kelly. Such tragedies remind us of the fragility of life.
I hope justice is served swiftly. Such acts of violence must not go unpunished.
Justice, yes. But it should be fair and thorough investigation, not a witch-hunt.
Absolutely, PeaceNow. Let’s hope the police handle this case with integrity.
This news is sending chills down my spine. Such a violent end in a peaceful community.
