The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) and Nissin Foods (Thailand) are back at it with their newest project, redesigning instant noodles’ packaging to serve as your personal tour guide to Thailand’s most iconic landmarks. This inventive marketing strategy captures the spirit of Thailand and brings it directly to consumers – and into their homes, introducing them to the country’s rich heritage and tantalizing cuisine.
According to Kittiphong Praphatthong, TAT’s hotshot central region director, the noodle packaging will be beautifully adorned with vivid photos and intriguing nuggets of information about Thai landmarks, culture, and cuisine. The idea behind this is to spark an interest in consumers to venture into local Thai eateries and experience the nation’s traditional dishes firsthand. Selecting a pack of instant noodles has just become an entrée to a cultural adventure! Not your average grocery shopping trip, right?
These noodle packages will seamlessly link to TAT’s Amazing Thailand campaign, a strategic initiative designed to promote visitor engagement by highlighting various attractions each month based on popular national festivals. The aim is to get everyone speaking and thinking all things Thailand!
You might be wondering, what kind of attractions? Well, some examples of the featured tourist spots include the awe-inspiring Wat Arun Ratchawararam (Temple of Dawn) located in the heart of Bangkok, the breathtaking Mu Ko Ang Thong National Marine Park in Surat Thani, and the stunning sunset spot of Phrom Thep Cape in Phuket, to name just a few.
Hijiri Fukuoka, the managing director of Nissin Foods (Thailand), spoke on their vision, stating that the launch of their new “Thai Signature” product lineup and vegetarian noodles was not just to satiate hunger but to also enhance tourist awareness about Thai cuisine and the celebrated vegetarian festivals.
Fukuoka elaborates, “For instance, the vegetarian noodle pack will feature renowned locations tied to the vegetarian festival, like Wat Leng Noei Yi in Bangkok’s vibrant Chinatown and the sacred Bang Neow Shrine in sunny Phuket.” Sounds like a grand idea to give the term ‘instant’ noodles a whole new meaning, doesn’t it?
Are you excited yet? Be ready to explore Thai culture with every slurp because the revered Vegetarian Festival in Thailand is approaching, taking place from October 15 to 23. Make sure you keep an eye out for these inventive noodle packages. They’re selling more than food – they’re serving up a delightful slice of Thailand!
