On Monday, there was a first-ever direct flight from Oman to Phuket International Airport. The flight originated in Muscat. The Oman Air flight landed in Phuket after departing from Muscat, the capital of Oman. According to the article by The Phuket Express, the flight had a total of 162 passengers, all of whom were given HKT souvenirs upon their arrival. Recent months have witnessed the introduction of a number of brand-new direct airline options to Phuket. On November 12, the flagship airline of Russia made the announcement that it would be increasing the number of weekly flights departing from Russia to Phuket by 14. This occurred a little less than two weeks following the joyful return of Russian airlines to Phuket. The very first flight operated by LOT Polish Airlines arrived in Phuket on November 7th. From Warsaw to Phuket, there were a total of 252 people on the trip.
On November 3, the very first flight ever to arrive in Phuket from Uzbekistan was operated by Sharq Airlines. From Tashkent, the capital of Uzbekistan, the flight traveled to Phuket, where it dropped off its 238 passengers. As of the 26th of October, the monarchy welcomed 7,349,843 visitors from other countries, bringing the total number of visitors to above seven million. Because of this, the country is on track to meet the target range of seven to ten million tourists that was established by the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) for the year 2022. It was stated that Phuket International Airport was the second busiest port of entry, following in the footsteps of Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport. The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) said in September that Malaysians made up the largest tourist group in Thailand in 2017. India, Laos, and Cambodia were the next three countries that welcomed the most tourists after Thailand. The rise in the number of aircraft departing from Russia has caused an influx of Russian tourists to descend onto Phuket, swiftly surpassing the Indian visitors who were formerly the predominant population. Between the months of May and September, the average number of Russian tourists who visited the United States was between 3,200 and 4,200. In the previous month, that number had skyrocketed to 23,089. This month in Phuket, visitors from Russia have significantly outnumbered visitors from other countries and demographics. The number of people arriving in Russia from India, the country with the second largest demography, has more than tripled, while the number of people arriving from Australia has more than doubled. There were 83,428 people from other countries that visited the island, and Russians made up about a quarter of the visitors. The target number of international visitors that the Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) hopes to welcome to the “Land of Smiles” by the end of this year is 10 million.
