According to data provided by Thai Airways International (THAI), the two countries with the highest number of visitors from Thailand are Japan and Singapore. Recently, Korakot Chatasingha, the chief of advertising for THAI, stated that the number of advance reservations made for the New Year vacations has continually climbed by approximately 65% on average.
The cabin factors for flights to Japan, which average approximately 70 percent, are among the highest.
As a further measure to cater to the needs of tourists, the airline intends to launch a route between Bangkok and Sapporo in the month of December. According to Korakot, “At the moment, Japanese lines are receiving positive feedback from passengers, particularly tourists from Thailand.” As a result of the Japanese government’s decision to relax some of the measures it had in place to prevent the spread of COVID and to allow a greater number of tourists into the country, there has been an increase in the number of passengers interested in these routes, particularly flights during the winter, which are very popular among Thai citizens. He stated that in order to control the influx of tourists into the nation during the months of August and September, the Japanese government had imposed a quota system.
Initially, there were just 190 seats available every day, but this number eventually climbed to 600 seats available per day. After the restrictions were lifted, tourism activity picked back up, and the airline is optimistic that the cabin factor would progressively improve as it plans to increase the number of flights to Japan. According to him, Singapore is yet another well-liked travel destination because it can be reached by air in a very short amount of time, and the nation hosts events and develops new tourist spots in order to accommodate its visitors. The cabin factor for the flight to Singapore is currently over 80% and will continue to progressively increase. The airline has expanded the number of flights from two flights per day to three flights per day, and in December, they will increase the number of flights to four flights per day.
Thailand’s top tourist destinations are Japan and Singapore
