Young tourists contribute to the local economy and help promote tourism

A study revealed that the work visa program generated more revenue than wealthy tourists. During their time in Australia, young foreign employees spent approximately AU$10,000 on average. Officials took note of the trend, and as a result, they loosened and expanded the scope of their working visa program to accommodate digital nomads and elder travelers on career sabbaticals. Young people take more time off from work, have a stronger sense of adventure when traveling, and are typically the most likely to travel. When the Covid-19 pandemic subsided, the first persons to resume traveling over the globe were young travelers. This included the quick renewal of the backpacker scene in Thailand at the same time. According to the Tourism Australia spokesperson, young travelers have their entire lives ahead of them, meaning they will be able to take more travels as they age and earn more money in the future. This is…

57k passengers – 49k foreign – arriving at Suvarnabhumi daily

The National reports that out of a total of 57,000 travelers, 49,000 came from different countries. There were 25 international flights that landed in total. However, if that implies that each airplane carries around 2,200 passengers, then this information must be incorrect. According to Flight Statistics, roughly 266 flights are scheduled for Thursday. In a statement issued Wednesday, immigration officers officially confirmed the accuracy of the data. Immigration officers at Suvarnabhumi Airport were able to process 3,500 passports every 30 minutes during the busiest time before the outbreak. As a result, they were able to effectively process the 3,000 international arrivals each hour without having anyone wait outside of the core immigration area. Thailand is experiencing a rise in the number of tourists. Thursday, Suvarnabhumi Airport, which serves as both Bangkok’s principal airport and Thailand’s primary international hub, reported receiving 57,000 international passengers. This number is approaching uncomfortably close to…

In just one day, Thailand is visited by 50,000 people from other countries

According to Choengron, immigration authorities are able to process up to 7,000 travelers each hour without compromising national security. Agents do not spend more than 45 seconds analyzing the information on each new arrival’s passport, visa, biometric information, and presence on any blacklists. He warned that immigration authorities must be on the alert for foreign criminals posing as tourists, especially given that the APEC 2022 Summit will be held in Bangkok the following week. According to the officer, it is usual for international fugitives who illegally enter Thailand to overstay their visa, engage in illicit business enterprises, and commit crimes while in the country. To ensure the safety of the world leaders attending the APEC meeting on November 18-19, immigration officials have been instructed to go above and beyond their customary duty to prevent criminals from crossing the border. Airports of Thailand (AOT) said that they are in negotiations with…

Cheap Thailand flights? That won’t happen soon

Would you believe that fuel prices, labor shortages, and a lack of aircraft contribute to the high cost of flights? The US Labor Department reported a 43% spike in airline CPI in September. Airlines for America said that ticket prices were still low last year, yet CPI airfares increased by 8% from September 2018 and September 2019. After a summer of cancellations and delays, airlines seem to have regained their equilibrium. By restricting flights, they halted the rise of the industry. Andrew Watterson, COO of Southwest Airlines, acknowledged the unusual circumstance. “Demand is greater than supply. During the summer, higher ticket prices compensated for an 80% increase in aircraft fuel costs and surpassed 2019’s revenues. Despite recent price reductions, industry experts do not anticipate cheap fares in the near future. Domestic round-trip tickets in March 2023 cost an average of US$350, up 26% from last year and 28% from 2019.…

Beach chairs in Hua Hin are considered to be too expensive by visiting tourists

Butsaba Choksuchart, the Deputy Mayor of the Hua Hin Municipality, brought the matter to the attention of the public after tourists complained that the beach chairs they rented in the vicinity of the Centara Grand Beach Resort & Villas Hua Hin were more expensive for them to rent than they are for locals. Each representative admitted that they did charge the tourists more than they should have, adding that they were forced to do so since the costs of food and equipment, in addition to employee compensation, had grown. Butsaba emphasized that the price of each chair must remain at 30 Thai Baht per chair at all retail establishments until the authorities announces any formal pricing adjustments. Butsaba held a meeting on the issue yesterday with representatives from 22 different shops and eateries in the area around the beach. Butsaba denied their request, stating that the price they were charging…

Malaysians and Indians will help Thailand beat its tourism goal

Before the pandemic, Chinese tourists made up the largest group of foreign visitors to Thailand. But because China keeps enforcing its Covid-zero policy, the vast majority of Chinese tourists who went to the kingdom can’t come back. The High Season in Thailand is from November to April when the weather is thought to be the best. Since High Season started a week ago, immigration inspectors at Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport have struggled with the number of travelers. Commander of Immigration of Division 2, Major General Choengron Rimphade, says that the airport can handle about 6,500 people an hour without putting safety at risk. Thailand is on track to reach its goal of 10 million tourists by the end of the year. This is because Malaysia and India…
