A group of rural doctors wants COVID medications to be available for purchase by state hospitals

The group hailed the ministry’s decision to allow state businesses, private clinics, and hospitals run by medical institutions to independently purchase Covid medication in a Facebook post on Monday. Chualongkorn University instructor in popular science Jessada Denduangboripant has been advocating for full liberalization of Covid medications on his Facebook page. The society was making reference to a letter that Thongchai Kirattihatthayakorn, acting permanent secretary for public health, had issued to the ministry of higher education, science, research, and innovation as well as the department supporting health services on July 27. The group argued that since Covid medications may be purchased independently by private hospitals and clinics, the Public Health Ministry’s hospitals should also benefit from the liberalization. While the permanent secretary of higher education is in charge of medical schools at universities, the department is in control of private hospitals and clinics. As a result, starting on September 1, the…

Covid is no longer regarded as a “dangerous infectious disease” in Thailand

As Thailand gradually moves toward a post-pandemic position, the National Communicable Illness Committee of Thailand decided to downgrade COVID-19’s designation from “dangerous infectious disease,” which took effect on March 1, 2020, to “infectious disease under watch,” tentatively starting on October 1. Covid is no longer regarded as a “serious infectious disease” by Thailand’s Communicable Disease Committee. Anutin stated that the committee will permit state hospitals to purchase anti-viral drugs independently rather than waiting for deliveries from the Government Pharmaceutical Organization and to claim refunds later, like other infectious diseases, in order that the public will have better access to medication. This will allow post-pandemic management to remain in line with the changing situation. The committee has also given the go-ahead for hospitals to administer patients Long-Acting Antibody (LAAB). CCSA should take into account extending Thailand visitor visa to 45 days

The majority of travelers planned to stay in Thailand for more than a month, according to TAT’s analysis of data from visa applications submitted at Thai embassies across the world. During a meeting on July 18, Thai Prime Minister Prayut Cha-o-cha stated that the plan needs more consideration and involvement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Immigration Office. TAT Governor Yuthasak Supasorn stated that the plan would be presented to the Centre for Covid-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) at the ensuing CCSA meeting on August 19. The information might motivate CCSA to accommodate tourist needs. Both arrival-based visa exemptions and arrival-based visas (VOA) would be prolonged to a 45-day period under the proposed extension. If the CCSA approves the proposal, the TAT predicts that the average visitor will stay an additional five days and spend an additional 4,000 to 5,000 baht each day, potentially increasing their spending by 20,000…

This Machine Is Green was a photograph of a marijuana vending machine in Bangkok that was posted on Twitter by a Thai user called C.Veasarach on Saturday. The caption read, “Here it is… This vending machine is in response to the new marijuana law. The device provides resources for using cannabis. Who will check it if they ask clients to present their ID cards before making a purchase? Does the machine have a reader for ID cards? Since I’ve never purchased it before, I really want to know. On the machine, there are a few warnings that read, “Prescription: Do not sell to persons under the age of 20.” (Please show your ID card every time before buying). Don’t market to expectant or nursing mothers. Cannabis is only used for medical purposes, and smoking it in public is against the law, punishable by up to three months in jail and…
