The “Bangchak Children’s Day 2025” event unfolded with the enchanting theme “Opening the World of STEM: Regenerative Happiness,” turning the Bangchak Refinery into a dazzling nexus of innovation, education, and pure joy for Thai youngsters. This special day, observed on January 11th, 2025, was inaugurated by prominent leaders from Bangchak Corporation Public Company Limited, including the inspiring Mrs. Gloyta Nathalang, the Senior Executive Vice President of Sustainability Management and Corporate Communications. She was joined by the esteemed Air Vice-Marshal Jirachai Pudpong, Deputy Director-General of the Defense Science and Technology Department, along with local government officials, to kick off this awe-inspiring celebration.
In its 36th triumphal year, this event morphed Children’s Day into an electrifying platform where STEM skills were not just taught, but lived. More than 4,600 children, alongside their parents and community members, dove into a sea of edutainment activities. Each activity was meticulously crafted to ignite the flames of curiosity and foster a lifelong love for learning in these young minds.
The event was a whirlwind of excitement centered around four engaging zones:
- Science (S): Unravel the mysteries of our planet with experiments that made the force of gravity as thrilling as a magic trick.
- Technology (T): Enter a world where futuristic dreams come alive through incredible robot demonstrations.
- Engineering (E): Dive into the thrill of designing and building ships that actually float – an engineer’s delight!
- Mathematics (M): Discover how math can be as fun as a puzzle with activities that turn numbers into games and invite problem-solving adventures.
Just when you thought it couldn’t get any more exciting, the Regenerative Happiness Robot rolled in to hand out over 5,000 gifts. Paired with delicious food and drinks, the day turned into a feast for both the mind and body, leaving everyone buzzing with happiness and sweet memories.
The event was a stage for sensational performances, too. The Ratwinit Bangkaeo School Marching Band brought the house down with their beats, and stars from Super 10, like Nong Achi, the Math Wiz, and Nong Guy, the Glider Prodigy, dazzled the crowd. Thrilling shows like the Mad Science Show and the lively tunes of Pong Lang Alongkorn added an exhilarating twist, all crowned by a mini-concert from the ever-popular Dek Show Ded project.
Emphasizing Bangchak’s unwavering commitment to community safety and empowerment, the day also featured practical learning opportunities. Safety-first initiatives and firefighting training were highlights, instilling in children the values of becoming well-rounded and responsible citizens.
The joy spilled beyond the confines of the main event too. Bangchak service stations across the country joined the festivities, celebrating Children’s Day in sync with the theme of “Regenerative Happiness” and spreading smiles in local communities.
A Legacy of Inspiration
Founded in 1988, Bangchak Children’s Day has blossomed into a beloved tradition, one that beautifully embodies Bangchak’s steadfast commitment to nurturing future generations. With its focus on STEM education and broad community engagement, this event shines a light on Bangchak’s vision of empowering Thai youth to dream big and contribute significantly to national development.
By flinging open the doors to creativity and knowledge, Bangchak ensures that Children’s Day is far more than just a celebration; it’s a purposeful leap toward a brighter, vibrant future.
The event sounds incredible, but is it really accessible to all children across Thailand?
Good point, Chris. While these events are great, rural kids often miss out due to distance.
Exactly! Maybe they could host mini-events in smaller communities too.
Bangchak should totally invest more in mobile STEM labs to reach those areas.
STEM sounds fun, but what about arts? Aren’t we sidelining creativity by focusing just on STEM?
Integration of arts into STEM is the real game-changer. How about some STEAM activities next time?
STEAM would be amazing! Kids could really benefit from designing, creating, and learning all together.
True, but STEM is already broad, and sometimes resources are limited. Arts should stand alone too.
Impressive event, but I wonder how much of this is just PR for Bangchak.
Corporate events always have a bit of PR, but does it matter if it’s benefiting the community?
I guess if it genuinely helps, then maybe it’s win-win. Still, transparency is key.
Not everyone is into science and math. Why not a day for young farmers or trade skills?
Agreed, practical skills are also crucial for kids. We need more balanced educational events.
Would love to see more agritech for youth. Farming is evolving too!
I love that kids can learn firefighting skills. Safety knowledge is a must.
Couldn’t agree more! Hands-on safety training is empowering for kids.
Why can’t more schools have robots in the classroom like this event? It’s so inspiring!
Are we sure these events don’t distract from real educational priorities in schools?
Events like these complement education by providing experiential learning. It’s needed!
Fair point. A mix of both formal and informal learning might be the ideal.
Do all these activities really equate to actual learning? Or just a fun day out?
Both! Kids learn best when they’re having fun. It sticks better than boring classes.
6000 kids attended? That’s amazing turnout. Kudos to Bangchak for organizing.
Indeed, but I wonder how they manage such a crowd without chaos.
With lots of planning, I hope. They must have a great team.
I took my kids and they loved the Regenerative Happiness Robot! A day they won’t forget.
I hope they emphasize eco-friendly practices at such events. Sustainability should be a core theme.
